Solid product. Did what I needed.

My boat has two big Cat 3208 diesels and a diesel generator. All have fittings and hoses on the oil pan drains. I needed to pump the oil out of each unit, about 3.5 gallons on each main and one more on the generator. Because of a rise in the way the hoses were routed and they are fairly large, it took a little while to build the suction up but once over the hump so to speak it pumped out the 40 weight oil just fine. I had run the engines some to warm up the oil first. I then changed fittings and used the pump to put fresh oil back into the generator. Worked like a champ. No spills and easy to control the amount of oil. The pump is heavy for its size and seems well made. I used Teflon tape on all threaded joints and had no problems with leaks. I used a pushbutton switch to control the on/off which made it very easy to control when changing oil containers. I had to change to Tygon hoses because ordinary vinyl collapses uder the suction.

Seems very robust, purpose-ready and high quality. 4 stars until tested. If all well it's a 5.

Good little pump

This little pump works as advertised. I use it to transfer used motor oil that I burn in a shop heater. With 3' of 1/2" suction hose, a strainer and 6' of 1/2" outlet hose, it takes about 40 minutes to transfer 30 gallons at about 55F. Would probably increase volume with a shorter outlet hose and higher temps. The motor just starts to feel a little warm after 40 min. of continuous duty. Couldn't find a 35 strainer as recommended so went with a 30.
