First impression is good, real test is coming.

I was very pleased with the boat cover. It fit perfectly and protected the boat as intended. I would have liked to seen installation instructions and a couple of more tie down loops near the bow of the boat.

Ordered the BoatGuard cover with concern that its quality might be too flimsy. I was pleasantly surprised to find its fabric stronger than I expected and the craftsmanship top-notch. In fact, it fits the boat almost as well as custom covers I've had made for other boats -- at 4 to 5 times the price! I wouldn't recommend trailering with the cover, but then I never trailer boats with mooring covers on anyway. Let's see how well it holds up in the non-forgiving S.Florida climate.

The cover is noted as a center console type boat cover for boats 17-19 feet. I have a 172 Scout and was expecting to get a cover with a feature to go over the center console/ The design of the cover I was sent is large enough to go over the center console area but is way too large for the rest of the boat. The I measured the stern to bow dimension of the cover at 20', which is way too large a cover for me to use. This cover would be a reasonable fit for a boat with windshield type design. I believe this is a stock item for Taylor and was direct shipped by them to me. After checking the fit I contacted Jamestown for return authorization. Kevin Van Wagoner asked me to contact Taylor for the return authorization on the 16th. Vicki Horton at Taylor said they only do exchanges and to contact Jamestown on the 21st. I emailed Kevin on the 22nd and have not heard back from him as of the 27th. I took a risk ordering a generic design cover and after carefully trying it, learned it does not fit. I have no problem paying to ship it back. I just cannot use this product.
