OK but not what I wanted

This pigment certainly colors the epoxy, but the epoxy does not appear somewhat transparent as I was hoping for. If you're looking for a solid color it works well.

It5s WAY overpriced at [$](it sells in [...] for $5.95). Looks like another rip-off.

Q: The Evercoat dye you sell in a 1 ounce tube. Can you send me a color chart? I am wondering how dark Royal Blue tint is?

1 Answer

A: Sorry, the manufacturer does not offer a color chart. JD no longer carries this item and the colors are limited to stock on hand. It is common practice to blend different colors to attain the shade desired.

Q: I want to turn white marine tek into __quote__off white__quote__, what pigment do I need ?

A: Since most people refer to off white as a slightly yellowed or aged white I would think the yellow in very small amount would probably get you there or you may have to add an even smaller amount of brown to tone down the yellow and make it more aged. You are going to want to be careful to not get in a hurry and add too much, there is no going back unless you have a lot of white to add back in.

Q: how much epoxy will this tube color?

1 Answer

A: When I placed an order for this item is was substituted by the company for a 2 oz blue coloring agent that only cost 7.99 that is also available to order on this website. I used only a teaspoon of the pigment to a whole quart of gluvitz gelcoat and it made it a very dark royal blue to match well with the rest of my boats paint job.So I guess I can best say a little bit goes a LONG way.
