Interlux Micron Extra is a self-polishing copolymer antifouling paint that wears down with use. Unlike some bottom paints, Micron Extra can be hauled and relaunched without repainting.
Interlux's slime blocking chemical Biolux is combined with cuprous oxide (copper) for superior protection against shell, weed and slime fouling. The copolymer compound is designed to self polish (or wear like a bar of soap) over time and use.
Extra can be used as a multi-season antifouling if 2 coats are applied and an additional stripe on highwear area like chines, rudders, sterngear and any leading edges.
Available in Black, Blue, Green, Red, and Shark White in Quart and Gallon sizes. Also available in Dark Blue and Brown in Gallon size only.

I have used this paint for years. Three coats gets me three seasons. I launch my boat in May and pull it out in September. Fresh water lake in Kentucky
November 3, 2020
Just piled and put on my 5th coat in 12 years and could not be happier. From life in the Potomac and Chesapeake to life here in Florida this paint has done the job year after year with almost zero hard growth on my Corbin 39 in all those years and locations. I currently keep her in a "freshwater" lake just of the ICW in Jacksonvillle Fl that get to the ICW by a lock. Tube worms grow there (if you don't use the boat as much like this stupid year) but simply fall off once under way. Hard growth from long stays at sea just never happens and soft growth even after months at anchor in the Keys is controlled. I will never use anything else.

We have used micron extra for a long time....17 years. Mostly it has been good... But not always. And it does rub off too easily when you need to wipe off grass etc. We have used in varying waters...north, tropical, salt, brackish etc. We have tried others but keep coming back.... It's better than most, assuming you want ablative, but could use improvement.

No grow. No slime or grass grows at water level. Multi year. You can pull boat for maintenance and put back in weeks later no issue.

I have been using Micron Extra for biannual haul outs since 2000. I recommend starting with one coat of color other than final color. On my boat, when the blue paint starts to show I know that it is time to refresh the Red.

Very durable finish, stands up well for entire NE season. Learned about it while purchasing an Island Packet which had been in water for 12 months in North Carolina. Highly recommended.

It's one of the longest lasting bottom paints I've ever used.

After using a palm sander to take off old paint and prep & feather chipped areas, the paint rolled on easy and covered completely. Very nice paint!!!
April 24, 2013
I used brush ease to help with rolling.
