The most amazing paint removal product EVER!!
By Rozz from San Antonio, Texas

My husband and I are remodeling a 1940s cottage in Houston and one of the last terrible issues was the door frame inside the bathroom. It looked like a double cheese pizza. None of my workers wanted to attempt the paint removal. One tried with a heavy duty sander and removed around an inch, max. I couldn't wallpaper until I tackled this job. Your product took me down to the wood. At least 6 coats of paint. No fumes. No burning hands.THE BEST.

Unpainted door frame.

Good Product, Easy to use
By Barnacle Bill from Corpus Christi, Texas

I used this to remove 4 year old epoxy bottom paint. It worked well when scraped off after about 4-6 hours. When I left it on for 24 hours it dried and was hard to scrape off. The stripper worked well to soften the old paint and made removal easy with a putty knife.

Spotty
By STEVE from Glen Haven, NY

Verified Purchase

The product was left on the boat for several days due to inclement weather and lower temps, as recommended by several users. Eventually the temp got back to normal, but the paint stripper was spotty, and in several spots went right through the gelcoat. The gelcoat is pretty old, and most likely damaged by abuse & the elements to some degree. Won't use this again unless I get a hot summer day, which has not been the norm in Central NY in 2014. I'm stripping a 1974 Whaler that has had a rough life, and believe I'll use a heat gun for the duration. In a perfect world, I think this would work fine for a moderate strip job; I doubt the advertised layers of paint would actually work.. but I'll re try some of it next summer. Any recommendation would be with several caveats.

Use a heat Gun!
By starfleet from Skaneateles, NY

Used 3 galloons on a 13ft Whaler. Not very effective overall, and took my gelcoat off as much as it did paint.

Great paint stripper
By ERICT from FAIRHAVEN, MA

This paint stripper works excellent. It took some experimenting to find the most efficient way for it to work. I'm stripping all the paint off the cabin and deck of a Bristol 40 sailboat. Its a large area so I've been working in sections. Air temperatures have been between 70 and 85 degrees, I've found 70-80 to be the optimal temperature. Initially I tried it in small areas for shorter duration soaks 2-6 hours, then I tried leaving it overnight which produced better results. What I have found to work the best is to put it on thick and then cover it with a cheap plastic drop cloth, then I smooth the air bubbles out of the drop cloth and leave it for 24 hours. When I lift up the plastic sheeting alot of the old paint is stuck to the plastic. Then I use a 6" steel putty knife to get the bulk of it up and into a 5 gallon bucket, after that I use a scraper. Two applications of the above procedures seems to remove all the paint down to the gel coat. Two other points that I really like alot are the fact that it's non flammable and produces very low to almost no odor.

2nd coat with plastic sheeting in place
Port side of cabin with 1st coat of stripper.

Not Great For Bottom Paint
By BK from Long Island, NY

Used this to remove bottom paint of 15 years. It took three times the amount of time Aqua Strip did. Use the Aqua Strip for bottom paint.
