use the oval heads as often as possible. even if flatheads look ok, the oval shape on the drive side of the fastener helps to shed water. this will make cleaning easier as well as lessen the likelihood of water intrusion.

While not the top of the line for stainless steel hardware, it is more than adequate for my boat. It was a great buy compared to other on-line sellers.

I am building a second stepladder going to the fly bridge on the starboard side to mirror the existing stepladder on the port side. I own a 30' 1975 Chris Craft Tournament Fisherman with twin Crusader engines. The ladders sit on top of hatch covers and due to the downward slanting of the flybridge require an opposing 1 3/4" height difference between the stepladder's handrails to compensate for the difference (of the slant). I needed the same step ladder fasteners to match the existing ladder....The ones I purchased from Jamestown matched identically between the two ladders. I now have matching port and starboard flybridge step ladders. Thanks..............
