This versatile tool does it all. From notching deck boards to cutting bolts and nails in order to remove old construction. I have owned it for two years and still am finding new uses for it. The only thing I haven't been able to do yet, is tighten bolts or drive screws...but give me time. I am so impressed, I chose it to give as a gift to my tool-poor future son-in law instead of a drill/driver/saw/light cordless combo set. The long cord makes it seem cordless and gives you unlimited power. Don't get swayed by the corded/cordless imitations, they aren't built as well as the Fein.

I have an older Fein sander (lacks the star drive) but I could not successfully adapt the new star drive blades to it. I had a delicate tile job so I bought the new tool. The grout blade worked well. I then used it for cutting holes for electrical boxes in siding. It did the work far better (and safer....) than plunge cutting with a jugsaw, leaving clean edges. I don't tend to reach for it first since the blades/attachments are very expensive (the similar parts for competing tools are much less expensive and i can't see the extra cost justified) but in a delicate situation it can't be beat. A long time ago, I bought a similar oscillating detail sander but it was junk by comparison so when the reviews of competing tools implied that the Fein was the best, I spent the extra money.

I'm a professional carpenter and part time boatbuilder. I resisted buying a Multimaster for years because the price seemed high. I bought one specifically for removing caulk in a teak deck and found I use it all the time in my carpenttry work. I've convinced two friends to but one. I can't imagine NOT having it in my truck as I use it nearly every day.

I have used the product in a number of ways. For a dinghy maintenance project (replacing rub rail inside and out) I used the cutting tool, the sanding tool. Have used it to saw through a broken/bent shackle (I was amazed how well it did this) also used around the house for a variety of uses (mostly sanding and cutting so far) very solidly made tool. i agree with another reviewer that the vacuuming accessory is not that good. I had hard time getting it to work well.

First time I used this product I loved it. I couldn't remove roofing nails with out ruining the wood. I used the metal/wood saw tool and buzzed those nails off in just minutes. I've also used the semi-circular saw blade to cut the fiberglass roof material and it cut it like butter. With the sabersaw it was much harder and took took two people. This tool is great and I will use it often.

I CAN USE THIS TOOL FOR MOST PRECISION CUTTING, GRINDING, SANDING JOBS THAT I HAVE AROUND THE HOUSE. I AM RETIRED NOW AND NO LONGER WORK IN THE FIELD AND AM SORRY I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE MULTIMASTER BEFORE I RETIRED. IT IS SO HANDY AND USEFUL THAT I KEEP GOING AROUND THE HOUSE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB TO INCLUDE MY NEW MULTIMASTER.

THE BEST TOOL ON THE MARKET

I got this tool by accident, a friend bought one for himself, then his wife bought him one for his birthday. I bought the tool from him, even though I had no interest in such an expensive tool. MY LUCKY DAY! Wow, I just love it for what I use it for. I have found so many uses for this tool, I can't even list them all. Most work you can do with this, you can get done some other way, but once you have THIS tool, it turns into your "go to" tool. No, it's not perfect: The segmented blade that's included broke very quickly, and a flush blade I ordered came too bent to use. (See my reveiw on flush blade). Get the HSS flush blade. Other blade, for soft materials, is stamped steel, and cheap. When I broke the included segment blade, I found I could still use it, even though it broken almost in half. Replacement flush blade literally erases plugs(I punch a hole in a 3x5 card, place it over the plug; leaves just enough plug to sand flush quickly) the 3 1/8 round blade is much better than the included blade. I traded the tile tools on an online trading site for extra sand paper. Note that the hook fasteners on the triangle sanding pad melt at a low temp, so let the sandpaper do the work and don't force the sanding or you can melt the hooks. Dust collector is worthless. I wish the straight cut E blade was stiffer. If you search the net, there's a good article on making your own multiblades. Use a metal straight edge and the round HSS blade to make narrow curf, precision straight line cuts way better than a jig saw. Wish they made a side cut blade (like a sawzall). Love the long cord. Lastly, I have found many uses for this tool that I never would have thought of until I started using it.
