Product Details

The Taylor Made Transom Boat Fender has a contoured shape that allows for a secure grip on the stern of a sailboat or on most swim platforms up to 4" thick. The transom fender integrates a 3/4" diameter tube, allowing a line to pass through, guaranteeing a snug fit. Constructed of soft and felxible vinyl, the fender utilizes a rubber football inflation valve to adjust the level of firmness.

Fender - must have.. Maybe... Big Fail
By Mike from Ventura, Ca.

This fender is a must have if you do much docking with clubs, poker runs, etc. Even with a thick swim step on our formula boat this fender stays put a lot better than using the regular round fenders. The only thing you need to consider is that it's large and where do you stow it but it is worth the hassle. Update 3 years later. It's been 3 years since we purchased the first transom fender and it has failed us. With a split it is un-repairable so I have to knock the rating down two stars. I expect more life from these fenders than 36 months. I purchased a second transom fender later in the year so if the same problem arises they will be a total disappointment. We now have a 44' boat and use two of these fenders on the swim step. They do work very well. Some of our friends have copied the way I attach them using the Perko fender locks. Update April 2015: Well, the second one has failed in the exact same place as the first one -- where the fender meets the edge of the swim step (See Picture). It just took a year longer. This tells me it is a design flaw, and the fenders are not worth the money unless you use them occasionally a couple times a year. After the first one failed, there was a question if it had proper inflation -- unlike with the Patriots, 2 lbs. probably wouldn't make a big difference here! I was very diligent in maintaining the pressure, but that didn't seem to help. It still failed big time. To add to the frustration, I purchased the third fender to replace the first broken one. What I see in the near future is I will have 3 dead fenders. I wrote to Taylormade customer service and they never replied.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
