Answer Question

Question

Project I'm working on is reskinning a foam core rudder. If this material is used as main load bearing material, would an outer layer of chopped strand mat be recommended to reduce print through and improve surface finish in a vacuum bagged installation? Do you offer an epoxy compatible chopped strand mat material?

Asked on 03/15/2018 by ILYB-Todd from Downriver, Michigan

Top Answer

This material could work for the load bearing cloth material. The chopped strand matt part doesn't really fit the application.

Answer Question

Question

How does product compare to S glass for use as a canoe skidplate? I will be hand wetting a single layer with West Systems G Flex 650 epoxy.

Asked on 06/12/2017 by dcockman from undisclosed

Top Answer

It is thicker and will provide strength and reduce flex. For a skidplate I'd look at Kevlar cloth, much more abrasion resistant.
