TotalBoat Spartan is a multi-season marine antifouling bottom paint that provides excellent protection in salt water & fresh water. The constant exposure of new paint film to the water continuously releases biocides that protect against barnacles, algae & hydroids.
Spartan's ablative copolymer base contains 38% copper and renders a smooth finish with a high level of durability and abrasion resistance. For universal application over all types of properly prepared bottom paints (except aluminum). For use on fast fiberglass boats, as well as wood, steel, and iron hulls, below the waterline only.

Family sailboat gets a fresh coat of Spartan every spring. It dries fast, too, so you aren't down at the marina all day. It has performed well every season, despite the harbor's notorious fouling conditions.

Spartan is a multi season ablative paint. I have been using this paint for years and I reapply each season to have fresh coverage. This paint keeps the bottom clear of all growth and at the end of season easily clean the bottom. Easy to roll, good coverage, drys quickly and great color. Because this paint is used every year one gallon almost covers a 38ft boat Only negative: difficult clean up. You will want a protective suit, face mask and goggles. At the end of "paint day" all trays, rollers, brushes and protective gear are thrown out. I no longer attempt any clean up on these items.

Good coverage, smooth flow, effective against growth.

The key to this paint is mixing it for a long time, a little bit goes a long way, I did a 21 foot boat with two coats I still have half a gallon left. amazing product!

My boat is on Lake Erie I bottom paint every other year with touch ups in between. First time using one gallon covered my 310 DA. hull with some left over. Rolled on easy with the medium nap roller. Choose not to use the roller that was provided because it's to big for my application it dried in a short time. Mineral sprites clean it up with no problems. Low VOC considering it was bottom paint even thought I was using it inside a heated building. Was able to take the paint can to a local paint store and had it shook up.

Easy to apply. Best bang for your buck bottom paint on the market. Comes with tools to apply. Not much to hate.

I have had a fiber glass 24'6 Tcraft in the water for 22 years now. I have grinded and painted the bottom every year and tried a few different antifouling paints. This was by far the worst I have used for quality and pricing. The west mine gold was better than this product.. I had a full bottom of barnacles after 2 weeks.. spend the money and get interlux or petit its worth it..

Unlike northern climes, here in Florida we get growth and the bottom requires regular cleaning - for boats that stay in the water that is. We applied 2 coats of black over 1 coat of blue in 2020. When we start seeing blue it's time to pull the boat and paint it. After 22 months in the water the bottom paint still looks good and is doing as advertised - with no blue paint showing through. After a good cleaning and scuffing we applied 2 more coats of black and are good to go.

The boat hasn't been in the water since I applied the bottom paint but application went smoothly and the project time was as described even though it was a bit chilly. The color is a little disappointing as they described it as red and it's more like rust color. It'll all be underwater so I guess it really doesn't matter.
