We are looking for individuals to fill the following positions:

Position Outline:

You will work closely with the Purchasing and Sales teams on a range of projects, focusing on inventory management, profitability analysis and reporting. You will manage the relationship with vendors to forecast needs, ensure adequate stock, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors
  • Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
  • Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company
  • Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
  • Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget
  • Maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing or a related field
  • 4 year BA/BS strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, (including vlookups and pivot tables)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to balance multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with marine supplies a plus

Position Outline:

The JD Retail Store Associate represents the company with enthusiasm and professionalism in all areas of customer service. The primary focus of the position is to assisting customers with their product needs and provide solutions with Jamestown Distributor product and TotalBoat branded products. The JD Retail Store Associate provides an exemplary customer experience by asking the customer questions to determine their needs and engaging the customer with their product knowledge, and suggests the best appropriate items for customer needs. The JD Retail Store Associate also checks and resets the store inventory, and maintains the quality and presentation of the store.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service. Assist customer needs by utilizing knowledge of products features, values and benefits.
  • Develop product knowledge to provide a high level of service to the customer.
  • Learn the TotalBoat product line and upsell/cross sell TotalBoat.
  • Actively participate in all sales and promotional programs that drive sales.
  • Follow all procedures and policies to ensure continuity.
  • Daily reset of the store products, ensure product counts are accurate and price changes are made.
  • Ensure the store is neat, clean, and organized throughout each business day.
  • Document any customer ideas/issues/complaints into the doc provided. 
  • Be able to perform opening and closing duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to engage and connect with customers.
  • Retail sales experience is required.
  • Data entry and computer experience required. Experience with an ERP computer system a plus.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work Saturdays and holidays when open.
  • Boat building, woodworking, and marine product experience is a plus.

Position Ouline:

Provide customer service and sales for Jamestown Distributors through consumer and commercial accounts in a personable manner. Provide customer service for all accounts through consistent contact and follow-up skills. Use knowledge of JD systems and materials to research information, process orders, provide problem-solving support, and tech support, within a timely manner, to maintain customer satisfaction, and account retention

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer inquiries via inbound phone, fax and email support. Assure customer satisfaction in all requests, including: order status, product specifications and availability, payment terms, sales programs, JD policies, etc.
  • Processes customer orders in a timely and accurate way, verifying and communicating customer information, order and shipping details, recommending additional items needed for the customer's project including substitutions, and TotalBoat sales offers. The rep will answer technical calls, process internet orders, and other transaction processes as necessary
  • Follow up on all verbal and written communications with customer daily to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain scheduled daily outbound calling contact with specific territory of commercial accounts to drive sales, anticipate needs and provide pro-active customer service support.
  • Manage customer service systems daily to insure that orders are being expedited.
  • Report any irregularities or potential problems to the Call Center Manager.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the sales department and Jamestown Distributors by performing other related duties, as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. or demonstrated skills in organization, written and oral communication.
  • Computer literacy required; able to learn ERP system, MS Excel, MS Word, including typing skills of 30 WPM
  • Minimum of three years of customer service related experience. Must be able to demonstrate experience in customer relations and follow through skills. Marine industry experience, marine retail experience, and equivalent knowledge a plus.
