West System G/Flex liquid epoxy is a toughened, versatile adhesive designed for permanent, waterproof bonds on fiberglass, ceramics, glass, masonry, metals, plastics, damp and difficult-to-bond woods. G/flex epoxy is resilient enough to bond dissimilar materials and flexible enough to absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock and vibration.
Available in liquid and thickened formulations, liquid G Flex 650 is a two part (resin and hardener) mixed at a 1:1 ratio. G/flex 655 is also a two part epoxy adhesive, but contains a thickening agent.

Epoxy Safety
Avoid skin contact with resin, hardener or mixed epoxy. Wear liquid-proof gloves and adequate protective clothing to keep the epoxy off your skin.
Avoid eye contact with resin, hardener or mixed epoxy. Wear protective glasses. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes and consult a physician.
Avoid inhalation of vapors. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear a dust mask when sanding epoxy, especially epoxy that has not fully cured.

What's the difference between 650-8 and 650-K?Trying to repair/weld an armrest where the plastic has broken from where the hinge ties the lid to the base. I need to replace the broken piece. (2004 Cadillac Deville).Will this hold the weight (at repaired hinge) of the lid when open? Lid weighs approximately 2.5 lbs.Thank you

The 650-8 is just the resin and hardener, the 650-K it the whole kit with the filler and items pictured. If you are able to get a good bond, it should hold.

My Mustang conv. vinyl top has several small splits caused by stress at the fold points. Will this product work to seal and hold the cracks when the top is going up and down? Apply at what temperature?

I doubt that this is the product that you want. While the epoxy is "flexible", that is a relative term, the cured product is very stiff. Many epoxies are hard and brittle when cured, G-FLEX is "tough" when cured and absorbs some shock with limited flexure, but what you want is a pliable bond, more like a silicone product. You might try a local upholsterer and see if they can recommend a fabric glue. I hope this helps some.

Most likely yes. Flame treat the surface first and put a small patch on the inside and you'll likely be fine. This is amazing stuff.

Hi Tim, Depends, it is fairly liquid and probably would not stay in the hole. Perhaps the thickened version would work but I have not used it. If you could some how get the hole horizontal and contain the G/flex so that it bonded on both sides then it may work. It is a very strong adhesive.

This is hands down the best epoxy I've ever used. If you properly prepare the surfaces it will fill gaps and it's very strong due to the fact that it's felixble. For patching a hole, you might want to incorporate some Fiberglas patches or plug one side and let it flow and settle. It does take at least 12 hours before you can even touch it, but after 24 it's very impressive.

I first started using G/Flex to cement neoprene shock mounts to plywood to fix my M-in-Law's 50-year old Eames Dining Chairs, and none of the repairs has failed. I have since used it for hanging metal tools like axes and hammer heads on wooden handles. Again, rock solid joins. I even rebuilt the handle of an Estwing masons hammer, replacing an inch long section of handle by using tape to create a cup on the end of the handle, and filling the cup with G/Flex which bonded securely to the metal core and flexible blue grip synthetic. Here is the caveat: I mix the G/flex in recycled PETE (polyethylene terephthalate food cups and after it is cured, the leftover skim of epoxy in the cup peels off in a thin sheet, leaving no cured product behind, so it does not bond to the mirror smooth PETE. I don't know if the PE in the boat will act the same way. After blending the resin and hardener I add west's 406 colloidal silica to the consistency of cake frosting so that it does not drip or run. If the through hole were slightly countersunk inboard and outboard an epoxy plug could be formed that would not easily push out of the hole. When cured it is easily filed and sanded to match surrounding contours; the color is creamy egg custard yellow. I say give the G/Flex a try. Even if it doesn't fix the boat, you will find uses for it around the shop, I am about ready to order my THIRD quart kit. If the epoxy does not work, perhaps P-Tex candle like that used for ski base repair might work.

I actually used it on the back of an old window I am mosaicing. Two of the windows started to crack so I am trying this product on the back to stabilize the window. So far so good!! It was very easy to apply. I think I am going to put some on the front as well when I am finished and it is grouted. It will be outside as a view barrier all year so that will help preserve it. Used G-Flex to glue together large pieces of a teak helm seat with dowels. Thicker than regular West System epoxy but plenty of work time. Use acetone to clean wood before gluing. Dries clear. Dried excess sanded off without much problem. Glue lines between pieces are barely discernible and only on close inspection.

Splicing together the ends of a royalex canoe

I used G-Flex to glue together the ends of a royalex canoe that had been torn in half. I started with a 15' Bell Yellowstone that had a near complete tear amidship. I cut 5' out of the center of the boat and used G-Flex to glue the ends back together. I have not yet taken the boat through any whitewater, but I have floated it in a nearby beaver pond. The seam is strong, waterproof, and seems to retain the flex I want to have in a whitewater canoe.
