Interlux Micron CSC Antifouling Bottom Paint

Micron CSC is an great multi-season ablative bottom paint with a copper-copolymer formula that provides controlled release of antifouling biocides at the paint surface.

The longevity of the coating depends on the amount of paint applied. CSC retains its effectiveness even when the boat is removed from the water for extended periods (winter storage, for example). To reactivate come springtime, use a stiff brush or powerwash lightly. Suitable for sailboats and power boats.

Available in Black, Blue, Green, Red, and Shark White colors in Quart and Gallon sizes. Dark Blue is available in Gallon size only.

Works well in multiple coats

I used this bottom paint on a 16 foot sailboat that sits at a mooring in the water all summer. I can finish the whole bottom with a skeg and centerboard with just one quart, if thinned out a bit. Because it's so expensive, I have only used one quart per year. Every year, I rough up and clean the old paint with a scotch brite pad, and apply the new coat over the old one. Now that I have 3 years of buildup, this seems to keep the slime buildup off the hull a lot better. This paint stinks. Definitely use a respirator when applying.

It went on great

So far love it.

Easy to apply. Looked better on the 2nd and 3rd coat. Looks nice and I'm excited to see how well it works when the boat is back in the water.

yes,yes,yes, and probably yes

MY 31' Tiara's bottom was stripped and painted with black AwlGrip in 2005. That application lasted about five years without touch up. Then minor work was required yearly, mainly involving pinholes and small areas. Since I can't buy AwlGrip in quarts I went with CSC over 2000E barrier coat for touch up. I don't know if this is the method for professional shipyards, but it works for me. Fresh water Lake Erie is my boating location.
