Hand Riveters and riveting tools
We carry rivet guns and other hand riveting tools to allow quick and easy fastening. Marsons' HP-2 Deluxe Hand Riveter is the most popular hand rivet tool on the market, so much so that there are inferior copies of this riveting tool floating around out there. Features a square shoulder fulcrum pin made of cold-formed heat-treated steel. this prevents pin rotation that can lead to premature tool failure in lesser riveters. Works with up to 3/16" steel rivets and includes four nosepieces and a wrench to change them.
The Marson Big Daddy Riveter offers the most power of any hand riveter. Makes it much easier to set larger diameter blind rivets. Extra long handles mean lots of leverage and reach. The Big Daddy riveter also features self adjusting jaws with a steel insert in its single-unit body. Sets 1/18 to 1/4" rivets and includes multiple nose pieces.
A rivet is a mechanical fastener consisting of a smooth cylindrical shaft with heads on either end, the second one formed in position. The heads are somewhat larger than the diameter of the hole into which the rivet has been inserted. Generally one head is factory formed. The other is formed by clinching metal after the rivet has been inserted. Blind rivets are tubular and are supplied with a mandrel through the center. The rivet assembly is inserted into a hole drilled through the parts to be joined and a specially designed tool used to draw the mandrel into the rivet. This expands the blind end of the rivet and the mandrel snaps. This gives the rivets their common name of pop rivet. Aluminum and Stainless Steel are the most common materials for rivets to be made of. To choose the correct rivet: Determine the total material thickness to be joined and refer to the grip length column. Select the rivet which equals or exceeds the material thickness. Jamestown Distributors offers stainless steel and aluminum rivets for your construction needs. For copper rivets, please see our selection of copper nails with copper roves.
