For 20 years I have used a home built inboard electric drive system, 3.5 hp, as auxiliary power for a very easily driven 28 foot (9m) sailboat, about 3 tons. Would it be possible to use your motor, battery and control system in an inboard configuration. That is, can your motor be connected directly or with belts to the inboard drive?

Charger for 401 & 801 from 12V DC source
Torqeedo would be much better value for cruising sailors if the battery can be charge from 12V DC system DC to DC not via inverter. Inverter has to high power consumption from 12V DC system. I am holding my purchase until such charger is available. STD 110AC is only available in the marinas and big boats with big gensets...JanS/V Goosebumps
