Scandvik Folding Water Tap

Scandvik Folding Water Taps are constructed from chrome plated brass and an acrylic knob for an attractive appearance and excellent resistance to harsh marine environments.

The tap folds down and out of the way which makes this perfect for installing on sinks, under a seat, and bait prep stations. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically and require a 5/8 inch mounting hole.

A 3/8 inch BSP thread is standard, and a 1/2 inch NPT thread adapter is included.

British Standard Pipe (BSP) threads are used commonly in many countries outside the U.S. The most common BSP threaded fittings are tapered with pressure tight joints achieved by the threads. While similar in appearance to National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded fittings the two styles are not interchangeable.

BSP and NPT threads are not compatible due to the differences in their thread forms, and not just the fact that most diametrical sizes have a different pitch. BSP threads have a 55° included angle and have rounded peaks and valleys (this is a Whitworth thread form); NPT threads have a 60° included angle and have flattened peaks and valleys (this is a Sellers thread form).

Note: BSP fittings are NOT compatible with metric pipe thread.

Comments about Scandvik Folding Water Tap:

I have one of these on my boat behind the port side seat where my bait-prep station is located. I was breaking faucets once a week when someone would move the seat around. This tap eliminates that problem, and corrosion hasn't been an issue.
