Bronze Screening is used in boatbuilding as an electrical ground under decks. JD Bronze Screen is constructed with an 18 x 14 (sq/inch) mesh, .011 wire diameter, 90% copper, 10% zinc.
Bronze screening is also used as an insect screening material for doors and windows, and especially on screened-in porches near the water, where the greening or verdigris patina provides a traditional appearance.

Bronze screening is a fairly stiff material but may be bent by hand and has some springback after being bent or formed. It is the color of a new penny when first woven* and will eventually weather to an attractive dark bronze finish. This mesh may be brought to a bright finish by first removing surface oil from the mesh using shower cleaner or similar mild phosphoric acid household cleaning product, then rinsing it well.
