Hi there, Looking for strainer basket size for Crusair , 858E cat no 493/500 series water strainer. Would that be the SS-69-B?Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
check your strainer size and type on the housing. stamped on the body. then check it against the groco parts book you may find the numbers may not match. just make sure the measurments are the same and the material is the same.

Richard...I'm not sure this is gonna work for you. I bought 2 of these for my raw water intakes for my Crusader 454s and had to make some modifications to it. I had to drill a hole into the bottom of mine and remove the handle because the bolt for the top of my strainer ran through the top and screwed into the base. Obviously, just make sure you have the right length and you will be able to work with it. I was comfortable with doing this since, for the $$, this was well worth it. I have and older boat that sometimes requires some "modifications" to new things available now.
My Greco arg2500p strainer has a plastic basket. Can I use a stainless steelo basket as a replacement?
Yes the plastic ones don't last long especially if you get barnicals get the stainless.
Mine only had stainless. I don't have a good answer. I replaced stainless with stainless.
I recently replaced my ARG1000s SS basket with a plastic one. The size was the same. My stainless baskets last about 5 yrs. I have 5 ARG1000s Groco's and now have a Monel, SS, and a plastic in them .Will see which lasts the longest.
I have the same strainer in my boat. Yes, you can use stainless. I have used both. I highly recommend the plastic replacements. They are much easier to clean and I find much less growth with the plastic baskets. Keep your old stainless ones as spares and buy the less costly plastic. I live in Florida where everything in the water gets fouled. You'll be very happy with the ease of maintenance. Hope this helps. Jim.
i have a greco 1.25 , with 11/4 tubing, what size of strainer do i need . ?
1.25 strainer basket. SS and good quality.
Groco model ARG 1250 uses a 2.4" dia x 7.9" lenght strainerpart #S-76-C monel, #SS-76-C stainless steel
If it's the AGR1250 strainer, the basket should be the GRO SS76C, according to the chart on the web site. I'd measure the length of the old basket and compare it to the ones on the chart.
The right item for the roght price
Exactly what we needed for the best price - however the shipping time was longer than expected, even for the holidays. Fortunately we didn't need it in a hurry
The only problem is that the top plastic loop is too high - making it difficult to start the strainer cap straight. Easy fix was to simply push the loop down into the strainer.
Emergency next day shipment of raw water engine filter.
You got me away from the dock when I needed to sail out. Thanks. Good product delivered next day.
Great Service, Thank You!
