What parts are included in the bezel and mounting hardware kit?
I can't remember
IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I INSTALLED THIS ITEM BUT I BELIEVE THE KIT INCLUDED A MOUNTING PLATE AND THREE SCREWS THAT PASS THROUGH THE DASH AND FASTEN THE STEERING BOX TO THE BACK SIDE OF THE DASH. THE BEZEL FASTENS TO THE SAME MOUNTING PLATE WITH TWO SUPPLIED SCREWS. there WERE PROBABLY LOCKWASHERS OR SOME OTHER KIND OF THREAD LOCKERS AS WELL BUT I JUST DON'T REMEMBER THAT DETAIL.
All parts are included
Do you need to get a cable or will this work with the original cables?
This system requires a push-pull cable with a ball end coupler on the steering wheel end so if that's what you have it'll probably work.
My boat has two cables for the steering one on each side of the jet. Not sure it that makes a difference. Ill have to see what connections it has
I've never seen one with two steering cables. Are you sure one cable isn't your reverse bucket control? In any case the JBS system you're looking at is a single cable system. I believe however that they make (or made in the past) a dual system used on the twin jet SeaDoo Speedster - have not seen an aftermarket version of that though.
Mine worked with original cable.
Where can I get just the cable in 13 feet for my sea rayder jet boat?
Search for SSC21913 in any internet search engine.
I bought a Teleflex steering system, but I need to hook it up to a 66 Johnson outboard. Do you have a connecting bracket for it?Larrlynn
I don't think I can help much. I bought a Telelflex jet boat steering system for a jet boat application. Because of my one-of-a-kind project, I had a cable custom built to my specs and fabricated all my own bracketry.I'd go to the Teleflex website and search on "steering brackets" or "steering connection kits" or something similar.Good Luck,Marshall Young (AKA Frankenboatcaptain)
Is the steering cable 10 feet long?
Steering cable IS NOT supplied! You have to order it separately so you can order whatever length you need. Steering wheel is not supplied either so you're on your own there too. Good luck - my system worked out great and I really like the way it responds.
I have a dystany 15 foot jet with a 120 mercury jet sport. What steering do I replace it with?
I'd go with the Teleflex JBS and a cable the same length as your original. You may have to get a different wheel unless yours has a tapered/keyed shaft interface.
Wally: Is all the hardware needed included in this kit? I know the cable is not included.Am I wrong?..Thanks,Wally
You're correct. No cable and no wheel. Everything else needed to install the system is there! Be aware the wheel to box interface is a keyed/tapered joint. Good luck.
Does it come with a cable?
Actually it's been a long time I did not need a cable so I really don't remember.
No! I had to order the cable separately.
How do you know which one to buy (135 or 270 degree arc)? I have a Four Winns Fling with an OMC Turbojet.
Depends on boat length and personal preference. I have a 135 degree unit installed in an older 16 foot deep vee that I converted to a jet drive using a Tigershark engine and pump - crisp and quick response at all speeds but kind of touchy above 45 mph. I also have a 270 degree unit in a 14 foot SeaDoo Sportster - I think the 135 degree system would be scary quick in it (but I'd like to try it)!
Hello! Is the cable included? if so, how long? thanks
No. The cable has to be ordered separately. even at that it's well worth the price for the high quality product.I used the 135 degree lock-Lock unit in a Jetski to Runabout conversion I tested for the first time last weekend and really like the responsivenenss.Check out my Son's video of the tests on YouTube under the nickname SonOfFrankenboat or just look for Frankenboat if this link doesn't work.Mart Younghttp://youtu.be/uVJjGzVomJk
No cable but it was a direct fit for my 1996 mercury 120 xp sport jet.

Works as advertized
Replaced in My 1999 Sugar Sand and it works perfect. Easy to install High Quality materials.
Love this product fit like a glove
This product looks and fit like the original factory part. Very easy to install, I've never worked on a steering system for a small water craft before and wasn't sure of myself the instruction were clear and the mounting bracket could be used in several different application plus I saved my old steering helm which made it extremely easy to match up. I installed the helm and new steering cable (sold separately) and now the steering operates like new again. Also they had the best pricing that I found. Good luck and safe boating
