Amazon's Golden teak oil preserves and beautifies teak, giving it a warm golden color. Surrounds wood fibers deep below the surface to seal out moisture, maintaining the wood's natural integrity. Untreated teak wood will dry out and crack over time. Amazon Golden teak oil will protect your teak with its non-flammable and environmentally-friendly, biodegradable formulation.

what is the difference between GTO 125, 150, and 175?
I don't know. I used the oil on teak furniture.
It is just the size if the bottle.
I am cleaning a teak wood floor. How much oil do I need for a 18' x 25' floor in better than average condition?
I used the oil on outdoor wood furniture of high quality. I'm sorry that I cannot give you a square footage estimate, but I will attest that the oil was the best product I ever used.
What does this product contain?
According to the MSDS Amazon Golden Teak Oil sheet(found at Jamestown Distributors product site), this oil is composed of dehydrated castor oil and white mineral oil. Other info related to toxicity and precautions are there for further info.
I assume just teak oil...no further knowledge
Unfortunately all the bottle says is natural oils and petroleum distillates. Frankly, I was unimpressed with the final look of this product and will not purchase another bottle.
do i need to clean, oil and seal my graying wood teak chairs to get the best finish?
The process is actually clean, brighten, and oil. The oil acts as the sealer for a year or two. Sometimes on my teak swim platform it just needs the cleaning and the oiling, but you have to judge the look of the wood after the cleaning. If you want a more lasting finish, the recommended procedure is clean the wood with acetone to remove all oil. Then give it 3 coats of clear epoxy (West System works great), followed by 3 coats of Interlux Perfection 2-part varnish. I did my anchor pulpit this way and only had to touch up the top coats of varnish after 6 years with a light sanding and fresh coat of varnish. I don't do this process on the swim platform because it would make it too slippery. Hope this helps...good luck.
It depends. Some people prefer to let the wood naturally patina to grey while others prefer the golden brown finish. You will need to lightly sand and seal your chairs if your teak has greyed if you want to bring back the golden colors.
I have a new Sanderling. The teak has been oiled. I'd like to varnish over the teak. Is this possible?
I would not varnish the teak. It would end up pealing and flaking off and look worse than just leaving it natural. This is due to the fact that teak wood has a high amount of silica in its fibers giving its natural ability to not rotting. I know cleaning teak and then oiling takes a bit of effort but it is the only way to keep it looking as close to its natural state as possible. I hope this helps.
If you want to varnish it you should remove the oil with a teak cleaner first and let it dry thoroughly...
I am sorry that I can't be of more help. I would suggest reaching out to someone who does furniture refinishing. I used the Teak Oil and it soaked in nicely. I have not had any problem keeping the original look/feel of my wood as long I use teak oil 2x a yr min.
I don't know. I'm not sure why you want to varnish the teak. Oiling seems to be a far smarter choice. Karen
You can varnish over teak oil. I recommend Epifane's varnish it is the best!
No. Teak has to breath. With the oil in the teak the varnish will turn white in one season.
i have four teak patio chairs a bench and table.......how much teak oil to you figure i will need to refinish my furniture?
1 quart is more than sufficient.....apply lightly....be sure furniture is cleaned first.
I would guestimate about a quart.
A quart will be plenty and you should have some left over. I used 1/2 quart to refinish a dining room table and a California king teak sleigh bed.
I bought 32oz. bottles of Teak Cleaner, Prep, and Oil for our two teak Adirondack chairs and small table. This turned out to be MORE than enough. I think the same quantity should work for you as well.
It has been a while since I used this but I remember if the furniture is dry it will use a lot more oil. Seems like I used one bottle on a table that I was refinishing.
You will not need a gallon for two coats. But you will need to maintain the coatings. I've never bought less than a gallon. I do transfer it into a jar that I can get a foam brush into and carry around easily. A gallon could last you for a few years.
I have teak salad bowls - can this be used on items that are used for eating?
Good question. I don't know if Teak Oil is is compatible with food serving products. However, I would opt for something a little safer, such as canola oil.
I would say not. On the label it states that it contains petroleum distillates and also says it is harmful if swallowed.
Don"t know. I've used it for years on teak wood used on my boats. I don't know if it's safe for eating utinsels.
This is a fantastic product. Unfortunately, I think its best used on boats and dock furniture. Your best bet is to use a product design specifically designed for butcher blocks and other wooden items commonly found in the kitchen. Bon appetit!
CARIBIANA SEA SKIFFS ATTN: BRIAN KROME
What are the ingredients of this product? How much oil and what kindsolvents, polyurethanes? What makes it environmentally safe" Any UV, mold or water protection?
I bought this thinking I could use it on my Teak furniture. Turns out it is designed to be used on the wood on boats. I gave it to my friend who has a boat. Not suitable for furniture in the home.
does this oil change the color of the teak? i have reclaimed teak flooring and would like to preserve its natural color...
Kelly, We used it on teak outdoor benches. After cleaning the benches and allowing them to dry we used the Amazon Teak Oil. I think the benches looked exactly like they did when they were new and I would say it did not change the original color of the bench. Of course in our case they were dirty & weathered from being outside so they looked very different after we were done than from when we started. I think it is a good product.
This is the ONY Teak Oil you should ever Buy!
I restored the teak decks on my 1981 Cheoy Lee Ketch. They look outstanding. I have tried several brands of teak oil - NOTHING compares to Amazon Teak oil.

Still the Best
I have an outdoor bench that has not been properly cared for in about 12 years. In two hours it looked like it was fresh off the showroom floor. Wow!
Amazon Teak Oils
Do not waste money on cheap Teak oils. This is by far the best! I have 1989 Sea Ray with a good amount of Teak. This brings it back to life after a couple of coats (Depending on weather wear) It looks beautiful!

By Far the best Teak Oil I've ever used.
I use Amazon Golden Teak Oil to protect my teak patio set. It's easy to apply and gives the teak a great golden color. I've used other oils but always come back to Amazon Teak Oil. You can't go wrong with this product.
San Jose, Ca
No idea what is in it
Lack of ingredients list leaves us with nothing but marketing names. Inert ingredients? % Solvent? What oils are in it. It's a pig in a poke
