Okay -- so then what size would I need to clench my 3/16" copper drift bolts? That's what I'm looking for.
1/4" ID, 9/16" OD
What is the outside diameter (OD) of the #10 flat-washer?
I measured one at .435 in.
on the washer #6, can it be used on a 1/4" carage bolt?
No it will not fit. Buy the 1/4 size
No, you need 1/4 washers unless you buy #6 and drill them out to 1/4"

Carriage bolts have a raised shoulder under the head, and require no washer on the head side. The flat washers I purchased is for 5/16 in. machine screws, and the washers thus have an inside daimeter of 5/16 in. and would be a bit large for the 1.4 in. bolt on the thread end, but could be used in some instances.I hope that answers your question.Alan
I bought this product to stay with the style of an antique commercial store front. There has been no problems since this product was installed and I found that the customer service with this company to be good. I have not needed anything from them since as I had found that there prices seemed to be more than the average cost from my normal suppliers.
BenThe # 6 washer is too small for a 1/4" bolt. Also, most carriage bolts have a square flange near the head that is slightly larger than the diameter of the bolt itself. Try a larger size washer.
What is the diameter of the hole and the overall diameter of the washer?
The flat washers have an inner hole diameter of 1/4" and the outside diameter of the washer is 11/16"Hope this helps.
Well, here I am 10,000 miles away in Australia and I bought my silicon bronze flat washers three years ago but it seems I'm now the international expert on them. The ones I bought are called "1/4 inch". Their internal diameter is 0.254 inch and the external is 0.689 inch.We use metric here but to use fractions of an inch, the internal diameter is just over 1/4 inch and the external diameter is just over 11/16th.What else can I say about them? Umm..they're flat and...err...they're made out of silicon bronze.Regards,Steve
