West System 209 Extra Slow (Tropical) hardener is formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin for general coating and bonding applications in extremely warm and or humid conditions, or when extended working time is desired at room temperature.
It provides approximately twice the working time of 206 Slow Hardener. 209 cures to a clear amber-colored solid with good physical properties and moisture resistance for bonding and coating applications. Not intended for clear coating.

i have .98 105 resin how much 209 slow hardner do i need?
3 to 1 by volume. IT,S excellent for longer work time.
which resin and hardner is best for painting ?
I use pigments mixed into west system.
Of the West System hardeners I have used, the slow curing West 209 tropical hardener does not appear to blush (compared to West 205 and 206). Not sure if you mean to 'paint' using West Epoxy - or if you are asking if West System Epoxy serves as a suitable base for top coating with some other paint. If considering the latter, I think that any of the West Systems Epoxy products will work fine with proper pre-paint surface prep.
I don't know since I didn't paint over it.
Must-have for the novice!!!!
Allowed me plenty of time to get transom in and secured before it started gelling and curing. Transom is now bulletproof! And in 90+ degrees!
