Brass screw eyes are great for holding small loads, providing that they are properly anchored. Eye bolts and shoulder eye bolts should be used for heavier loads. Self-tapping sturdy brass construction, many sizes available.

Solid Brass Screw Eyes
I only need 2 brass screw eyes BR1008. Is it possible to order a smaller quantity than a whole box? also would order some rudder pintles at the same time. Built a Beach Pea peapod and Doug Hylan says use brass screw eyes for gudgeons to mount rudder.
Sorry only sold by the box.

I am making my own Christmas ornaments and I am using a 1/32 dremel drill bit size, what size screw eye fits that hole? I want the screw eye to be as inconspicuous as possible.
I believe she is looking at it backwards. Pick the screw eye you want, measure the diameter of the threads with a gauge and then use a bit two sizes smaller than the threads. Congratulations on making your own ornaments.
Susan, the 1/32 bit is extremely small so I would use the smallest screw eye(1/2"). If you are screwing into hardwood you may have to enlarge the pilot hole slightly.Hope this helps.
What size of wire is used in the BR 1006 and BR 1008 Screw Eyes? Please give answers either as diameter or gauge number.
We did not use wire; we used brass chain for a Stall Plaque" See it at Ponybeds, our company which makes products for the equine industry. You should visit our site and see if there are other products you can furnish.Thank you,John Bracey
I'd like to answer your question, but I installed these six hours from here and don't get down there but every other month or so. The larger eyes are on the order of 1/8th inch in diameter and are very sturdy. I used them to lock very heavy shutters in place with spring loaded hooks. The smaller ones work, but if I had it to do all over again, I'd use the larger ones throughout. If you can wait until July, I can measure them, but I won't be there again until then. Sorry.
My BR1014s appear to be AWG 12 - .08 inch.
Just right for the job
Your price is realistic
These screw eyes are hard to find in quantity packaging, plus they're American-made! They are a special order item in 100's, but arrived much faster than anticipated. Thank you Jamestown Distributors!
