Sometimes you just need to step up the program and use a big old Hex Cap. These babies have got the heft that you are looking for in marine grade 18-8 Stainless Steel so it will be able to resist corrosion. Remember that Stainless Steel will sometimes Gall (seize) when tightened under load -- especially with larger size fasteners like Hex Caps. To prevent this apply a dab of Anti-seize compound before tightening the nut.

MET / STD:
Are these made in the USA?
I have some of the bolts left that are marked with a "flying V" and F593C on the head of the bolt. They do not have any of the markings regarding country of origin.
We don't have any information on where our supplier gets these from.
These do not look like full threaded bolts. How much of the shank is not threaded?
Usually around a 1/3 of the length, for example, the 4" bolt's have about 1 1/4" of thread. The full threaded bolts are part # "FSSHCFT38X3" (for 3 inch) or whichever length you need, give us a call at 1-800-423-0030 and we'll take care of you, thanks.
Hard to Find It Locally
The length of this bolt is hard to find in local marine supply store. I am glad that I can order it from this web site.
