Hull and Bottom Cleaners
Will this product work on my aluminum pontoons?
The directions state that it is corrosive to metals. I would not use it on Aluminum.
Will it damage the asphalt?
No, I don't remember it damaging the asphalt.Sent: 08 September 2018 16:40
Will not hurt the black top. Cleaned my boat in the driveway the last three seasons. Does a great job!
Yes if left on and not washed off.

With a fairly light coating of grunge on a 16' boat (fresh water) how many quarts should I buy?
One quart should last you a while. It does not require much product to do a lot of cleaning, and because it is so potent, you do not have to lay it on heavy either.

Morays/v Sol Purposehttp://solpurpose.wordpress.comOne quart will be more than enough
I would think one should be plenty for a 16 foot boat. It is very strong. Use sparingly and read all the bottle precautions and follow them.
is it concentrated?
No, it's supposed to be used full strength
Yes it's concentrated but that's the way to use it.
This product is used at full strength, it is not a concentrate.

It is supposed to be used straight so it's not "concentrated". It can be reduced with water but probably won't be as effective.- if your hull is not bad, reduce. If it's real bad, use it straight.
OK to use this in my driveway with boat on trailer?
This is Hydrochloric Acid and Phosphoric Acid so if you do use it in your driveway, be sure to rinse it off real well with water.

will this product harm an awlgrip painted hull?
There is a chance of discoloration and early deterioration in my experience.
I used it on the bottom of my boat and was careful not to get it on the awlgrip paint. If you have discoloration or staining, you can use Y 10 jell or something similar like FSR. The FSR is easy to use and will give great results - kind of a wipe on wash off deal - might have to do it twice.
will product harm an aluminum boat lift?Bob
The product warned against possible damage to the trailer so I merelyput a tarp over the trailer body and had no problems. Also there was very little spillage of the undiluted product. All drip page was when I used a hose to rinse of the product after it did it's job. A good product for my boat.
Product is specific to fiberglass only per the label
Dose this remove the paint as well, or just the bio-growth and stains?
just stains, not paint. For paint, try Ultra Strip.< a href="http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=800&campaign=email030315" target="_blank">http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=800&campaign=email030315< /a>
Yes it removes the paint if you don't follow the directions and rinse quickly.
Can you use ON-OFF on props, trim tabs, Struts and shafts?
I have only used the product on fiberglass boat bottoms. Based on the fumes that come off, it is clear that it has an acid base. It is not recommended to be used on metal surfaces and I would concur.
I did not use it on those items but I did use it on metal on the boat and it worked fine.
Is this product safe on colored gelcoat hulls?
I'm not sure because I have only used it on white gelcoat hulls. But I would think it would be fine on a colored hull based on the way it removes stain from my boats.
Thanks - I think Ill try it on a small spot under the swim deck.
Great Product for Fiberglass Hulls
Spray it on and wash off the grime and film.
Used this to clean up a 10-year old mess of pine sap, mold, moss, mildew, scuff marks, and other grime. Incredible what it can do. Mostly just brush it on and rinse it off. Did use a scrub brush and orbital brush on the really bad stuff and molded-in non-slip. Used a full 1-qt bottle for all gelcoat above the water line on a 22-ft fiberglass sailboat. Ingredients are pretty harsh, pay attention to the personal protective equipment list.
The best yet
Make sure you wash this off your boat trailer fast Use gloves and a good face mask when using The onle produt to use for the junk that grows in saltwater on the bottom off your boat For the scum line best stuff is slimey grimry no where near as toxic as on-off
a must for all boatowners
have tried 3 other products befor this. none worked. this product is great
Does the job!
Great product but not to be handled by those who are careless I and many others I have known have used this product with excellent results Makes stains disappear immediately .Very strong ,has an odor but I can deal with it for the results it provides
Best I've used!
I have used On-Off to clean the entire hull and fiberglass decks. After long mooring times the hull comes clean with almost no effort. I wipe it on using a brush full strength on a dry hull. Use very small amounts in a pail and dry brush to apply. Let is rest on the hull for a few minutes, not to dry they dip your brush in water and begin to scrub. Add water to keep the area damp. Two or three light strokes and hose it off. Nothing works like On-Off and it's especially great at cleaning tuna blood that has dried on. Excellent for cleaning bilge areas but be careful to keep it off metal, it will remove galvanizing. Most important to use in a very well ventilated area. Not for a careless user.

My boat is a 1984 FourWinns(hull color is beige). It is used on a man-made lake in Pa. Every year when it's time to pull her out of the water for the season the hull is the color of dark roast coffee(blackish-brown). Last year when I stored my boat without the usual in-depth winterizing and cleaning I dreaded the spring clean up. This product saved me a week of hard work. Within seconds the hull was clean where ever the product was applied.ON-Off is one AMAZING product.

I sprayed this stuff on the bottom of my runabout and that dried on green film that just won't come off literally melted away even before I finished spraying. I then took a long handled soft brush and just washed it around and then rinsed and the bottom was clean as new. This may be the best product I have ever used as far as doing what it says it will do. READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, WEAR GLOVES AND DON'T GET IT ON YOUR SKIN. THIS STUFF IS SERIOUSLY STRONG.
majic in a bottle
i tried this stuff out cause my marina told me to i keep my boat docked in fresh water it is not bottom painted just has gel coat and i took the boat out and it was a disaster i thought i would never get it clean i tried using 3m rubbing compound to get it off and even with a buffing wheel and the strong compound it wouldn't budge took off a little but noting near what i wanted the whole bottom was done went to the store picked up a bottom what did i have to lose i sprayed it on the boat whole used windex top to spray it with and all of a sudden i seen smoke after the smoke i just seen the ick running down the hull i sprayed the bottom side the whole hull of the boat within minutes the boat looked like it just came out of the show room compounded and waxed it and wow made my boat look like brand new it burns ur hands so wear gloves you are dealing with acid and try not to breath any fumes in the stuff is strong but it is magic so just be amazed when u go to clean
