Tie Down Marine
We are looking for a way for an older man (87) to get up and down into a boat. We are on Lake Michigan where the water level is so low that it is 6 to 8 feet from the top of the dock down into the boat. How far does this ladder go down? Also, can it be taken up and down?
The ladder rungs are about 1 foot apart so the 5 rung ladder will reach about 5 feet, the 4 rung will reach 4 feet etc. The ladder can be removed from the dock by rotating it up past horozontal and slipping the tabs out from under the mounting bar. This is relatively easy from the dock with a little practice. The ladder is fairly heavy galvanized metal.
does it come with mounting hardware and easy lift from water??
I had to tie a rope on the bottom ladder rung to help pull the ladder up to take it out, but I can do it. The ladder pivots up on the mounting base, so I don't have to handle the full weight. Once up, I simply slide the ladder out of the mounting base.B Beyer
Nice ladder but the rungs are slippery!
Galvanizing had to be filed to make hand rails comfortable. The rungs could use a non skid surface.
Nice product, Some Assembly Difficulty
Sturdy ladder but some of the welds were thick and made it difficult to attach the steps to the rails. Had to file some welds to attach the steps. Also some of the galvanized dip ended in a sharp point that needed filing so no one would get hurt.
Great Ladder/Great Company
I love this ladder. I am using it on my pool deck. I still have to figure out how to protect it from the pool chemicals but it is stable and works well without touching the pool liner at all (above ground pool). [...]
