Is it flexable and is shaft solid?
The shaft is rigid and solid. This allows it to transfer the torque from the drill. It works fine.
How big is this red blade?. I need one no bigger than 2"
2-3/8" od. could easily be trimmed w/ a razor knife
I know I will sound like a donkey. But, do I take the red plastic thingy from handle? It's stuck pretty hard on the steel rod. Being a woman that has never painted, leaves me at a disadvantage, but would love to try to paint my garage. I have a 5 gal can of paint that needs mixing.
Leave the red part attached to the metal shaft. That is the part that goes into the product you're mixing. The other end of the metal shaft goes into the chuck of your power drill. If there is some type of plastic piece like the product photo shows remove that before attempting to insert the shaft into the chuck of your power drill.
Can this be used with food?
Yes, I don't see any reason why it should not be safe to use with food products.
Used to mix ablative gallons
Likely Jamestown is unaware since the package for this extolls its features. Unfortunately the product does not live up to the package. The shaft is too weak so there's lots of wobble. The mixing head almost immediately separated from the shaft and had to be fished out from the gallon. Fortunately it was inexpensive. Unfortunately, I was counting on it to work.
