AwlCare is a hand applied, non-abrasive, synthetic polymer used to remove mild stains, water spots and diesel soot while increasing resistance to attack from acid rain and other pollutants, when applied regularly. It contains no harsh abrasives.
Awlgrip topcoat maintenance is a two part process. Wash surfaces with AwlWash wash-down concentrate and follow up with this sealer.
Never use traditional waxes on Awlgrip or AwlCraft topcoats, as they tend to break down quickly and cause a yellowish appearance. Traditional waxes also attract dirt. AwlCare won't yellow, and the protective coating lasts through multiple washings. Use it to temporarily seal and restore gloss to painted surfaces dulled by age or mistreatment. Time to repaint? Use AwlPrep T0115 to strip AwlCare from the surface.

Application - Apply with a 100% cotton applicator or cloth. Do not apply Awlcare with mechanical devices, apply by hand only.
Surface Preparation - Wash surface with Awlwash wash down concentrate, rinse and wipe dry.
Mixing and reduction - Shake Awlcare well before applying.
Application Instructions - Shake well and apply with 100% cotton applicator or cloth. Awlcare may be applied in sun or shade, and can be applied to large areas before removing. Allow to dry to a haze, and wipe off with a 100% clean, cotton towel.
Note - Awlgrip recommends washing the surface one per week to prevent dirt build-up. Use Awlwash Wash Down Concentrate to minimize removal of Awlcare protective polymer sealer. Multiple coats may be needed to protect water run-off areas.
Temperature Range - Optimal surface/ambient range is 18 C/60 F to 35 C/95 F. Proper application and or cure results may be more difficult to achieve when conditions are outside this range. Do not apply paint materials to surfaces less than 3 C/5 F above dew point. Do not apply to surfaces warmer than 41 C/105 F. Ambient temp range must be 10 C/50 F to 41 C/105 F.

What is storage shelf life for Awlgrip Awlcare after it has been opened? Thanks
It should be good for at least a year. Keep container closed when not in used. Keep from freezing.
I have an Albin 28TE (30ft LOA). How much do I need to do the entire hull?
Firstly, I love the AwlCare. It goes on and wipes off really easily. How much? I have a Regulator 23 and do just the hull once in the spring. I've gotten 3 seasons out of one bottle and still have plenty left. I also use the Awlgrip wash product before putting on the wax. Great products.
I bought a gal for my 54 cat had enough to do her twice
I purchased a quart bottle of the wash, at a mixture of 1 ounce to a gallon of water I was able to wash 3 boats that were 37-40' . BRW- the wash is amazing. The actual wax (1/2 gallon) I only used 1/3 of that bottle for the same 3 vessels. The wax is super easy to work with and also an amazing product.
1 bottle should do it.
A pint bottle will do a single application once. The manufacturer recommends multiple coats buffing in between each. The more coats you apply the better protection and shine. For a cost savings I would recommend the half gallon. You will use it when you see the results. You can apply it in full sun and leave it on as long as you want before buffing.Spider and bird poo comes off very easy with this polymer. In many cases a hard rain will make the boat look freshly washed. We however use Awlwash when washing the boat.Hope this helps.
Not very much. I have a 44 Hinkley and it takes about a pint for the entire hull but i am sure it depends on the condition of the paint and when it was last polished.
Please tell me if Awlcare can be used over gelcoat and fiberglass to clean, shine and protect the surface from scum while at the mooring?
My topsides and other painted surfaces are Awlgrip painted and I have followed the manufacturer's recommendation to clean the surfaces with AwlWash and then buff with AwlCare. Seems to work just fine. But I can't say about other surfaces. AwlCare is not cheap.
I don't see why not. There are far less expensive products that will do the same. Pretty hard to remove when dry though. No abrasive in the product. I find gelcoat cleans better and shines better with a 'cleaning' wax designed for gelcoat. I would not attempt to do it while the boat in in the water with awlcare at the waterline. probably won't clean the scum line that well (not a dry surface). Paint the bottom a bit higher if the gelcoat is getting slimy. a dedicated bottom cleaner product will clean the scum line better (but not the most eco friendly products to use on the water)
Rob Great stuff ,Makes hull have more depth .As for using it on the mooring sure can but do not mix with water.Has to stay dry . good luck .jay
I will not buy again.
Very streaky. Could not get a good shine.
Sturgeon Bay, WI
I would by this product again
Product goes on easily
Excellent for Painted Boats
Super easy to apply and buff off. Manufacturer recommends that you not use a machine, although buff off with a DA machine and terry cloth pad might work fine at very slow speeds. In my case, I liked not having to use an electrical power tool near the water. Restores the original paint shine and dirt shedding properties. I think I will apply at least once a year; maybe twice a year here in Texas where the sun is quite harsh.
I used this product and i can say works real good in boat need this kind of wax
