hi. i need 4 3/4 inch lines, 2 25 ft and 2 15 ft with a 1 ft diameter loop at one end. can i get that from you?
I don't know if Jamestown does custom splicing. I make my own loops, which is pretty easy in three strand.
i broke my neck and have almost no feeling in my fingers so if i wanted you to, how much would you charge me to make the loop for each? thanx
Kip, I'm a customer like you so I can't answer for Jamestown, but in the past I have bought pre-made dock lines with loops from several suppliers. Either look at pre-made dock line packages, or ask about splicing in a forum that does not get answered by customers.
What I would do is get 88 feet of 3/4" line, cut the 15 foot lines at 17 feet and the 25 foot lines at 27 feet and do a simple loop splice on each line. You need an extra foot because of the loop and about an extra foot for the splice itself. Easy spice to do--takes about five minutes per splice. Good luck
do you have pre spliced and pre cut to length dock ropes?
Thomas H Ray
This is probably a question for Jamestown, not a customer, but I will offer my thoughts. Yes, they probably do offer precut, spliced dock lines, but I would suggest you google online how to splice rope and you can quickly learn to make your own braided loops and splices and save a bit of money. This is what I did for my boat and it looks good, and I got the exact lengths I wanted for about half the price.
Is it possible to buy 250 feet of line, rather than an entire spool (600 feet)?
Yes, it is available by the foot.
Who is the Manufacturer?
New England Ropes is the manufacture.
will this rope work in a "GOOD" windlass ??
Shopper:I have only used this type line for mooring/dock lines. From my limited experience with windlass equipment, I would estimate that this particular rope poduct is not very suitable, as it's stranding is not as flexible nor does it have a higher number of strands in it as would be a good choice for windlass use.Suggest you call and ask Jamestown rope tech representative.
Sorry, I dont know. I used it for a mooring painter. J E
Can't help you with that one. I don't have a windlass.
Most windlass manufacturers recommend using 3 strand twisted nylon such as this rope and New England is about as good a rope as you can buy. To be certain though, I would contact technical service at your winch manufacturer because depending on the size of your boat and its anchor line capacity, this can be a substantial investment.
very soft, stretchy line. did well to help secure us through hurricane Irma. Definitely needs chafe gear though - it was not loaded very heavily compared to some of our braided lines and still showed significant wear. Cant be beat for the price though. I'll buy more when the time comes.
Great line for my anchor snubber
NER always have the best quality.
Good product, easy to splice or make eye for thimble
Fine line and durable
Great anchor line for my 19 foot sailboat.
Very good dockline
I use this for dock lines on my 27' sailboat. I like it because it doesn't get stiff the way some lines do, and it's pretty easy to splice.
very light anchoring and beaching our Catalina22

This is good stuff
I got this for some new dock lines. Very happy with it.
Good product, sketchy service
The product is as expected. However, a representative had emailed me to resolve a simple question regarding the available stock. When my order arrived, I found that my instructions had not been followed. Disappointing.
very good product
How do I splice this line to make dock lines or splice it to a chain for my anchor windlass.[...]
