Safety is an important concern when prepping and painting a boat. Will one Genius Bucket provide enough material for me to roller paint (Matterhorn White) the hull of my 1996 Macgregor 26X? Also, can I get reduced amounts of material in Black to do the black parts (stripe under the rub rail and cabin sides?
Yes, it should do a 26' hull above the waterline. You can buy additional paint in black separately.

How do I know how much to buy? I like the DIY Bucket idea, but how much surface will it cover? I have a 30' sport fishing boat. I am just doing the sides above the water line for now. It would be nice to put a coat on the top as well, but thought that maybe spray cans could do that.
It says it will do up to a 26' boat. In your case it depends on the square footage to be covered. The kit comes with 2 quarts of base color, 1 quart of brushing converter, and 1 quart of brushing reducer. That will be over 3 quarts of mixed paint which will do about 350 sq.ft. per coat. Measure your square footage and figure if it will be enough to do 2 coats.

I have a 24 ft grady white which will be going in salt water. do I need to bottom paint the boat if I use the quantum genius kits and if so I am assuming I paint over the genius paint after applied?will the bucket cover a 24ft boat
If the boat is going to stay in the water more than a day or two do not paint the bottom with a topside paint like this, use a bottom paint. It should do a 24' boat.

After using fairing system do you have to apply primer before Topcoat? If so which primer is recommended ? Also does the primer have to be sprayed on?
Yes it's best to prime over a fairing compound. The Quantum 45 primer is best.
