Wet the teak surface to be cleaned. While the surface is wet, apply TotalBoat Teak Cleaner Part A to the teak, disperse the solution and scrub lightly across the grain with a soft-bristle brush or Scotch-Brite pad. The teak will darken with residue that is cleaned from the wood. Never scrub in the direction of the grain, as doing so will remove wood fiber. Rinse thoroughly with water and continue scrubbing lightly across the grain, removing most of the residue. Also, rinse clean any brush or pad used to scrub teak.

While still wet with fresh water, apply Part B, using the brush or pad to disperse and scrub lightly across the grain. The teak will lose the dark brown color and start to lighten. Rinse Part B off thoroughly with fresh water.

Allow teak to dry to a light, golden color, at least 24-48 hours. Do not attempt to seal, oil, or varnish during this period.

The cleaning process may raise the outer grains. If so, a light sanding will take the grains back down. If persistent stains remain after cleaning, perform cleaning process again.

Caution: Do not allow TotalBoat Teak Cleaner to come into contact with painted surfaces or aluminum surfaces. Mask around the area to be cleaned to prevent staining of surrounding areas.

If Part A gets onto fiberglass or gelcoat, neutralize with Part B to avoid damage or staining. Do not leave Part B on an caulking or seams for more than 5 minutes without neutralizing with Part B.

The BEST teak deck cleaner prodouct that I have ever used.

I live in southern California and we enjoy boating year round. I have cleaned my teak decks before using a teak cleaner from West Marine. Total Boat teak cleaner is a MUCH better teak deck cleaner leaving the teak uniformly clean. When used with Total Boat teak sealer, it is the BEST combination of products that I have ever used.

Amazing results

I couldn't believe the residue that came out of the teak, none of which was apparent on the clean, sanded wood itself before I applied the cleaner.

Will Not Remove Solid Color Stain

I have some teak that the last owner painted with solid color stain. I have sanded it off except for tight areas and hoped that the cleaner might aid in removal. It id not, but I didn't really expect it to. It does however clean teak or IPE wood that does not have solid color stain on it wonderfully. Lots of dirty muck comes up out of the wood and when it is done it is clean and looks like after a light sanding it is ready for finish. The product goes a long way and works as intended, I was just hoping to get lucky with the solid color stain.

good stuff-cant go wrong

best teak cleaner on the market

baton rouge

for a 36" bar height bistro table with top and under shelf I used half of bottle.Seems a little pricey for as much as it cleans

Decent Teak Cleaner

I bought this product as my boat has a ton of teak on it and I have been going through the Starbite stuff quickly. I thought I would give this a try to see if it worked better. I applied part one and the teak became very dark and used a soft brush to scrub it after applying with a brush. I let it stand for a few minutes and then washed off. I needed to give it a second wash after that and used a clean brush with it. Teak got very dark using this part 1. I then applied the Part b or 2 to the teak and then again let it sit for about 2 minutes then scrubbed it with a brush. The teak color cam e back after washing 3 times. I could tell that the cleaner needed more than one washing to get the cleaner out of the wood. The teak color came completely back and looks great. I used this on a teak entry door and it came out very nice using very little product. I also tried this on some trim peices and they came out nice as well.
