It dries to a hard, smooth finish that self-cleans while the boat is in service, with a high zinc content that serves as a dependable barnacle barrier for a full season.
Suitable for use in fresh or salt water. Apply to properly prepared metals, including bronze, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, and more. For use above and below the waterline. Available in a 12 oz. aerosol spray, in Matte Black.

Outdrive AF Aerosol (Primer: TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Barrier Coat)
General Prep: For use on all props and underwater metals (struts, trim tabs, shafts).TotalBoat Outdrive AF aerosol can be used over previous paint that is in good condition, or areas coated with TotalBoat TotalProtect Epoxy Barrier Coat Primer (or an appropriate metal tie-coat primer). Before application, clean the surface with a lint-free rag wetted with TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep. Spray multiple coats onto surfaces until the entire can is used. The effective life of the paint is proportional to the mil thickness of the paint applied.
Previously Painted Surfaces in Bad Condition: Strip back to the original substrate and prime with TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Barrier Coat, as directed. It's best to apply TotalBoat Outdrive AF Aerosol while the barrier coat is tacky, but no longer leaves a fingerprint. If this window is missed, let the barrier coat dry, sand lightly with 220-grit sandpaper, then apply Outdrive AF Aerosol.
Previously Painted Surfaces in Good Condition: Wipe the surface clean with TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep, allow to dry, and apply TotalBoat Outdrive AF Aerosol.
Outdrive AF Aerosol is a high-solids paint that can settle to the bottom of the can. Failure to shake thoroughly before each use can result in clogging of the spray tip.
Before use, shake can thoroughly after hearing the rattle; shake can occasionally during use.
Spray surface with steady, even strokes at a distance of 8-10 inches.
Clean out the tip, as directed, to prevent clogging
Note: Apply at least 2 coats, allowing the surface to dry overnight between coats.
If Outdrive AF Aerosol is applied too thickly, it may require more time to dry before overcoating. Do not attempt to overcoat before previous coat has dried thoroughly. Allow to dry overnight before overcoating or launching. The effective life of the paint is proportional to the mil thickness of the paint applied. Use only when the ambient air, surface, and can temperatures are between 50°F and 90°F. For best results, allow to dry overnight, before launch. DO NOT PAINT ANY SACRIFICIAL ANODES OR ZINCS!
Properly prepared metals for underwater use: Bronze, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, and previously painted surfaces
