Side rails are quoted as a pair for $55.58. Does this mean eight feet of material? The top and bottom rails are quoted each, four feet of material?
last time I ordered a set of something from Jamestown Dist. (Vetus motor mounts) I was told after the order was processed that the web site was wrong and the price was each. I have already checked with the manufacturer, but I do not know how you sell their product. Besides, this simple question was already answered by Rick W this morning.
The left and side rails are a pair of 4 ft long lengths.
ron mI don't recall the number of feet of material. I would refer to the manufacturer. I can say that the description of this material as a "kit" may be a bit misleading. This is milled components and you will need some shop skills and a friend to get it together. Looks good completed though.Good luck.RM
if i want a door on the port side of a whaler console that has bow side hinges and stern side handle/lock, do I buy left hand or right hand door?
The "kit" is actually just components. I'm pretty handy and this was not a project for a novice.Having said that, the quality of the parts is pretty good, and quite expensive. You will be making the left/right decisions when you get the materials as NOTHING will be done for you other than the side styles will have been milled to accept the louver blades. You will need to do all other woodwork needed to make these parts into the door that you want.Good luck. Mine looked great when I was done.
The kit door can be assembled however you want. You drill the hole for the latch and install the hinges
The louvers fit perfect on my 1978 MakoI also ordered teak 1/4 inch plugs to fill excess Screw holes. They also worked greatThanks JD

Good solution to replace irregularly sized small doors. No instructions included. Picture showed everything needed (except teak plugs are not included) and required information, but I prefer an instruction sheet. I would recommend this, but with reservations.
Louvered Doors Kit
To describe these as "kits" makes the project sound easy. It is anything but easy and certainly not for inexperienced woodworkers. Skills and equipment are required. Also patience, as final assembly is quite difficult and an assistant is a good idea. As noted previously, no dowels are included as is stated in the ad. However, done properly, these doors are fantastic and quite pleasing. I am very happy with my doors.
not exactly what I was expecting
The products did not have the peg for the joints as described on the web sites and pictured above. i made due, but was very disappointed.
excellent quality for the money
We live on the west coast. I ordered off the internet enough material to replace all doors on our 38" Bayliner. All material was well matched and high quality with no waste due to imperfections. I ran short and ordered locally with noticable difference in quality of material.
