will this remove 3m 4200 adhesive caulk?
Did not try it on 4200. But I have removed a ton of 4200 by soaking in acetone, scraping with a scap piece of hardwood like a chisel (so as not to damage the gelcoat), then buffing out with an acetone soaked scotchbrite pad. As soon as the acetone dries, the 4200 sets back up. So work in small areas. The hardwood chisel need not be sharpened like a chisel, just have a good square corner. wrap it in tape or a rag to act as a handle and save your hand. Good luck!
Have not used for 3m caulk removal, but it did a very nice job removing the adhesive residue left behind when I removed several layers of annual stickers from my mast.
I bought this to remove wine labels. So far about a 50% success rate, which is better that other methods. Remover must be absorbed through the label and some labels aren't porous enough to allow penetration. Wear gloves and use this outdoors - you don't want to breathe the fumes.
A Must Have !
This is the stuff! From overspray of contact cement to excess caulk, this product makes cleanup go easy for a great result. Yes, a little elbow grease must be user supplied, but product removes a variety of adhesives, caulks and freshly applied paints an varnish leaving the substrate (paint, gelcoat, etc.) unaffected, How does it know??
