Semco Teak Cleaner is a two-part system. Part 1 dissolves dirt and old sealers. Part 2 brightens teak and neutralizes Part 1. Semco Teak Cleaner is the simplest and most thorough way to clean teak. It deep cleans teak without harsh scrubbing to remove graying, fish blood, fuel stains and teak oils.

How much 2 part cleaner would I order to clean 2 teak 4 ft long, heavy porch swing benches with extremely faded orange stain. This faint stain only covers a third to a half of the benches.I used some water and a brass brush until I found your instructions warning against using the brass brush. It actually worked...have I damaged the surface of the wood?Your help is most appreciated!Thank you,Dan RavenelleGOOD HANDS FURNITURE REPAIR
I think the 2 quart kit of Teak Cleaner would be enough. You should be able to sand smooth any scratch marks from the brush and then seal it after cleaning.

do i need to treat with something elsa after using this product?
If you want a "Natural", full grain appearance there is no need to treat with anything after using the Semco 2 part teak sealer system. After treatment, the wood will appear to have no finish at all but water will bead up on the surface rather than soaking in. If you wish to change the color of your teak Semco comes in several color options. If you are looking for a glossy finish on your teak, it will be difficult to maintain. The natural oils that make teak so durable make varnishing problematic. It just doesn't want to stick well. For a gloss finish your best bet is to coat with West or simiar epoxy and then varnish to provide UV protection to the epoxy. I personally go with the easy route and use Semco every couple of years.
If you want to have your teak sealed, use one of the SIMCO sealers. Some have a tint to them so it looks new. The cleaners #1 and #2 work great. I just did my patio table this weekend and it looks great. It is a little messy, but it really works.
How much should I buy to clean the teak decks of a 55' sailboat that has 2 coats of Semco? Thank you.
I have a swim platform on my tow boat that is around 10 sq ft. I used four ounces from each bottle to clean the entire swim platform. Lasted all season.
We have a 10 ft. teak table with 6 armed chairs and a teak bench, 2 teak armed chairs a teak lounge chair and 2 small round teak tables - a total of 12 pieces. How much teak cleaner will we need to clean all the furniture before sealing it?Thanks for your help!

What is the coverage?
I used a little more than a quarter of a bottle of the cleaner and brightener on 4 pieces of 1 ft wide by 5ft long teak boards. Doesn't take much if you get a higher end spray bottle from home depot or lowes. Just use the sprayer portion, it will fit on the Semco bottles so you don't spill it pouring it into the other bottles. Follow directions on bottle.
How much cleaner and sealer would I need for one chair and one bench?
The 1000 ml two-part kit will be way more than enough for a chair and bench. You'll have enough to clean your furniture for years to come.
Sandi, I just purchased one bottle of each cleaner and a gallon of sealer for my large table and 6 chairs and had plenty left over. I would do a quart of sealer for one chair and table. My teak didn't get as clean as I'd hoped but this cleaner did the best job of everything I tried. I ordered honeytone but wish I ordered a darker color since I had many remaining areas of discoloration. Hope this helps.
About 1/4 of each of the bottles.
I think one cleaner kit and a quart of sealer would be plenty.
This product works 100% better than any other I have used.
This works great, brings the teak wood back to it's original color. It is somewhat time consuming to use but the final product when finished is worth the time spent.

semco teak cleaner by semco
Applies on easily and cleans teak furniture with only a little bit of scrubbing. Does not damage or soften the wood. Great product for any do-it-yourselfer. Pricey but well worth it!

Easy to use, great results
I used this on disgusting black teak outdoor furniture. I used a push broom with soft nylon bristles to scrub the table and flat surfaces. I could see the black coming off as I brushed, this stuff really works. Over a few days it seemed to brighten even more.Easy to use, works well, winner!

Better than most others of its kind
It's a pretty tedious job (removing multiple seasons of Sikkens) but this outdid pressure washing, citrus strip, flaking off with a heat gun and scraper. I recommend buying high quality spray bottles for each part (A and B), ones you can change from stream to mist. Also, make sure your heavy protective gloves are CLEAN, as the part A will dissolve dirt and grime on them. all products of this kind are messy to some degree, but if you are careful to mind where the residue runs off water from your hose quickly cleans it up
This product was recommended by the prior boat owner. His comment was the teak looked brand new after using it and he was not lying. While it takes a bit of elbow grease to scrub on the product, you simply wash it off with the hose then apply the second step. Our teak looked brand new when we finished! Would definitely recommend this to others.
Semco Teak Cleaner
This product completely removed dirt and normal soil from our teak patio furniture. It was very easy to use and left the furniture looking like new. Previously, I had used the manufacture's recommended product to annually clean the furniture, but never achieved the excellent results that I received from the Semco Teak Cleaner.

Does an awesome job removing old film, dirt, mold from outdoor teak furniture, making it look like new.No messier than a liquid paint stripper- just make sure you cover things in the vicinity.
