The Tornado II Portable Electric Paint Shaker is an indispensable tool for your shop. Its three levels of motion will thoroughly blend gallon size and smaller paints, including aerosol containers, in minutes.
To achieve these multiple motions, the Tornado II spins an eccentric fly weight rather than using crankshafts, belts, or pulleys which can wear out and break. With fewer mechanical parts than conventionally designed shakers, the TORNADO II is lightweight (24 lbs.) and portable. It is not necessary to bolt the shaker down. The unit features a 115 volt motor and measures 11-1/2" deep x 15-1/2" high. Draws 2.6A.

What height can be accommodated? We have 1 gallon plastic jugs of ink about 12 1/4 inches tall and 11 pounds.
My shaker accommodates up to 8.75 inches high. Plastic might or might not be able to be accommodated...
This unit it designed to fit 1 gallon paint cans and quart cans.
It is designed for 1 gal and 1 quart paint cans, which can be plastic. If its like a milk jug, it won't work.
Would this work with a Mason Jar?
YesI mixed my bottom paint and my out drive spray paint this year with it. Mixed rolled and trim and done in 40 min. 19' SeaRay
I would not use a glass container.
How large a unit can be shaken? I believe a gallon paint container is about 7 inches in diameter. How much larger a diameter can be accommodated? How much height can also be accommodated?
Is it made in USA?
I have purchased Two of these shakers over the past few years and have found them to be trouble free. They are made in the USA and that was important to me. I use it daily and it has worked flawlessly and was a good value.
Website says max weight of a gallon is 11 lbs. does it work for standard copper gallons like unepoxy or Micron CSC ?ThanksMarty
Yes, it works great for any paint we have used thus far, including copper bottom paints. We use approximately 150 gal of copper paint per year plus normal topcoats. It takes a little longer to mix than a traditional shaker, but it is much less violent in its mixing action. It's also light and portable. Great for our yacht yard. We're happy with the purchase.
yes, but keep an eye on it
will it work with quart cans ?
Yes, the paint shaker will work with quart cans. I have also shaken aerosol and of course, gallon cans. I have been very happy with my purchase.
Yes the shaker works very well ith qt. cans. It is fairly easy to change from qt. to gal. cans. I have used it for spray cans as well. Although it is not as agressive as my old Red Devil shaker it is more than adequate for my shop. It is quite and smooth running. It doesn't shake anything off the bench. It goes along with my stock saying about any machine I buy. I should have got it along time ago.
MACKIE BOAT WORKS
I would also like to know if this will work for 2 ounce bottles of acrylic paint. Can you put more than one bottle in at a time?
I imagine you could shake 2oz bottles of paint if make a simple jig to hold containers in paint shaker to clamp down, hope that helps you!
This mixer is rugged but as shipped it required all fasteners in the spring areas to be retorqued and "Loctited." It also needs to be bolted down to my bench top or it will travel. I also added some standard hex nuts to the paint container holding bolts so as to double lock the container into place while shaking. If you don't, the restraint device WILL loosen. Once these simple modifications are done, the mixer works GREAT!
Great paint shaker
The paint shaker is great! Works well on small table and is much quieter than our previous shaler.

A Must For Any Boatswain's Mate
This product is an absolute must for any BM who must paint on a daily basis. This is also well worth the money for anyone using an anti-fouling bottom paint for a boat. This mixer is the only way I've found to mix these thick paints properly. Using this mixer cuts down dramatically on the time required to mix paints!

I bought two!
I bought my first one, another shop owner had to have it. So I bought a second.
We needed a shaker to re-mix some of our products and I was able to set the machine up with one of my employees, he will be mixing over 70k bottles of product. I am getting a second machine to handle the load!!!

A good machine that does the job
This mixer beats the heck out of mixing by hand. Stirring gallon after gallon of bottom paint is very tiring and after all that it is never mixed right. this shaker does a very good job.
