The product datasheet clearly states not to be used on walkways or high traffic areas. It seems like a lot of people use it in those exact locations to bring the glare down. So is it OK to use there or will it cause the finish to wear too quickly?
I just finished restoring my 50 year of Chris craft. I used the flatting agent mixed with interlux 2 part perfection on my walk around top deck and added inter thane nonskid product. Very hard finish. Not sure what you wanted to paint but in my case I feel this will be around for many years.
I used it on my back deck and have had no problems after 2 months of use.
Sorry, don't have a clue on that one.
We bought the flattener to bring down the sheen for a white tung and groove ceiling we installed on our Sabre 38 sailboat. The paint was fairly easy to work with and yielded a beautiful result. Can't really comment on the slipperiness!
does the flattening agent come in colors like the paint ?
No. The flattening agent is a 2 part clear mixture and it won't affect the color of your paint. If you like you can call me. Bob 757-617-8422. I've used it quite a bit on my boat.
No, it doesn't. I'm about to use it for the first time myself (probably next week). My understanding is that it can alter the color of the paint that it's being added to, but that it's hard to predict (depending on color used) how much it will change. I'm hoping that it won't affect mine much, but am resigned to possibly having to apply another coat, if necessary.
Did everything it promises
Did the job!
I did a 2 to 1 (interlux perfection ivory white) also shook out interlux non-skid over wet paint with a commercial salt shaker. Then gave it a second coat. Came out great.
