Hello - I have been advised to buy the Plexus with a "slow kick time" - I just didn't know what that meant - I will be filling a voided hole in my boats stringer. I am assuming it meant slow set time?So the 10:1 MA 425 would work best? Thanks so much,Josh
I tried the MA 425 but had better success and performance with a product from Parson Adhesives, Inc. PARTITE 7425. Cure profile, strength, performance and cost were all better than the Plexus product.
Is this product good for sticking/repairing a solid surface counter top?
it depends on the specific type of work your doing. Best on wood and fiberglass, not so good for hard surface bonding. needs to be porous surface.
Glue - Advice
Great Bonding Glue. Must use special dispensing gun. Great gap filler. Mix in very well vented area (yes, really). Working time seems to be less than advertised. Glue expensive, gun expensive, but otherwise great.
Expensive but worth it
Used the MA425 to bond a deck to hull. Tests prior to actually bonding the deck proved this stuff sticks. To get it apart, plan on destroying the part. My test was on fiberglass foam core panels, the glass had a peelply finish. The dispenser gun is solid and works very well. I had no problems at all with the stuff, not a single misplaced bead. The stuff mashes well and does not require much clamping pressure. You might need spacers to keep it from squashing too thing but it won't run on vertical surfaces, it stays where you put it.
