Replacement air compressors designed to fit all AFI 12 or 24 volt Air horns or marine signal horns. Each compressor comes with an inside mounting bracket. The 12 volt compressor has a maximum amp draw of 20 Amps, and produces 9-11 PSI. The 24 volt has a max amp draw of 10 Amps, and produces 9-11 PSI. Both compressors measure 2-5/8 inches D x 5 inches L.

My air horn 12v relay is failing and I can't seem to find a replacement. Anybody know where I can find one?OR... can I just directly wire the compressor to the horn button? The compressor is rated at 20A maximum. Don't know the rating of the horn button, but it's pretty heavy duty. (Made in 1973.)
Bill,Air horn relays are readily available from many auto and/or truck parts stores but they do seem to vary quite a bit in design. I suggest you Google the manufacturer's name and part number from the old relay and find it on-line.I did that for my 1967 Chris Craft and found the direct replacement. It was a simple 3 pole relay "Standard Motor Parts HR106" and I purchased it on Amazon for $14. Other sites have it for $20 to $25.Direct wire requires using a fairly large gauge wire for the whole setup. Probably at least 12 ga. Easier to replace the relay.Good luck with your project.
A new relay can be obtained at a good auto parts store. I don't recommend connecting to the horn button. Remember there is a large inductive load on the switch when it is first pressed. With this load the horn button wouldn't last long. Think also of the effect of a spark on gasoline fumes.
is a air tank necessary or is this a direct hook up to the horns?
No air tank needed. Just takes a plastic airline from the compressor to the horn
It's a direct hook up. One air tube from the compressor to a tee connection then to the two horns.
Direct hook up
I purchased the air horn as a replacement for my 15 year old air horn that had quit working. The AFI air horn hooked directly to my boat horn and did not need a separate air tank. It works fine. JL, Wrightsville Beach, NC
problem still exists, not sure where fault lies?

AFI replacement from Jamestown works great. I highly recommend.
Easy to install. Works great.
It does what it is supposed to do
Easy to install; the mounting bracket has one hole and one slot so it's easy to mount in tight places. Very powerful air blast makes for loud horn. Simple, reliable design.
