can you use a mosg. screen with this model?
As these portholes are precision built, water-tight and open inward, there is no way to put a screen over them from the inside, or to disassemble and sandwich a screen between the layers as the lid would no longer close (nor would the gasket re-fit). The only way I see one could provide this function would be to fabricate a custom screen that would friction-clip to the outside, outer rim of the stainless porthole frame, like a vintage metal mesh headlight cover.
I just received my order of the vetusPorthole type PQ51 S/S today 3-20 andMosquito screen for portholefits on inside of bezel between plexi porthole , nests in the rubber gasket nicely.Hope this helps.
What is the minium and maximum thickness of the bulkheads that these port can be installed in?
There realy is no minumum but it its more than 1/2" thick it wont work very well. I ended up putting them on backwards and installing my own latches. they definatly were not what I was expecting.
