Suncor "Quick Attach" Fittings are precision machined from 316 stainless steel and Lloyds approved under #97/00200 for holding power of at least 90% of the maximum breakload of the wire rope used. Special attention has been placed on the strength of the terminals, which guarantees that the wire (sold separately) will always break before the fitting even gets distorted.
The advantage of Suncor "Quick Attach" over conventional fittings is the arrangement of the wedges on the outside of the cable which makes assembly much easier and allows different types of wire (sold separately) to be used with the same fitting.
Suncor "Quick Attach" fittings are ideal for repair of rigging without swaging and for many other industrial, or architectural uses where the exact length of the cable cannot be determined beforehand or where assembly needs to take place on-site.

Does this come with Coated or Un-Coated wire? Is there an option to go with un-coated? Thank you!
Thank you! I'd also like un-coated as you are correct, it is far safer :)
I purchased un-coated as that is the safest. You will always be able to see the state of the lifeline and not wonder what is under the coating. I purchased these kits and installed it very quick and simply for the entire boat. I would not hesitate in recommending them.
uncoated as I remember.. not sure how you would cut and attach coated.
You can buy the kits with covered or uncovered wire. I chose uncovered. They were easy to install. Online videos provide excellent tutorials. I'm a satisfied customer. BTW--tighter the fitting onto the wire as much as you can using large wrenches and retighten again after a few days.HR
I have a 1981 Hunter sailboat...I have one strand of life line from bow pulpit to stern pulpit.the kit comes with 40 feet of life line...wouldn't I need more of this? will this be enough?
You should measure the current lifeline. If it's less than, say, 38 feet, you should be OK. (I'm allowing 2 feet for cutting ends to length, screwups, etc.) But note that if you're planning to install a gate, the stanchions on either side of the gate need "legs" to resist the load in the remainder of the lifeline. Yours probably don't have these (or there would be a gate already!)
Suncor 216 Lifeline Kit
The kit provided everything I needed. Easy to install. After installation, everything appears strong, thight and all wire is well protected from the elements. Great product. One caution, if you have the olds style pelican hooks and you want to re-use them, they may require left hand threads, which require adding Part number SO772-0905.
