Aquagard Bottom Paint

Aquagard bottom paint features water-based antifoulants specifically designed for fiberglass and wooden boats. It rolls on easily and dries quickly for outstanding results. This ablative paint exposes fresh anti fouling layers as the boat moves through the water, repelling barnacles and other growths.

Aquagard should be applied in multiple coats for multi-season bottom protection. It can also be used on inflatable boats without the use of a primer.

Because this environmentally friendly bottom paint is water rather than solvent based, clean up is easy and requires only soap and water.

All Aquagard paints are U.S. EPA approved, exceed V.O.C. standards, and have no toxic fumes. Paint comes in plastic containers for longer their shelf life.

Choose from quart, one gallon pails, or two gallon pails. Available in various colors.

    Comments about Aquagard Bottom Paint:

Used this paint for the first time last season in Narragansett Bay RI. it was easy to use, no toxic smell to it, and very easy to clean up. The growth we got over the season was all soft growth which is typical of the area, but no hard growth. Brushing off the soft growth didn't remove hardly any paint. Some ablatives when you brush the bottom a lot of it comes off and this paint seems a little harder. Overall I'm very happy with is and will apply again this season.

        Comments about Aquagard Bottom Paint:

Have used Aquagard since 1998 on my 34' trawler and 43' M/Y, application is extremely easy and clean up is done with fresh water. No fumes, no respirators. Boat is used in brackish, salt and fresh water, absolutely no buildup, if there is it will come right off with a light brushing, more importantly, no barnacles, etc and it's environmentally safe.p
Also barrier coated my dinghy last year and applied Aquagard, left the boat in the water all summer, bottom washed right off. Great product.

I have used this for several years. As a single hander senior sailor I find both the ease of application and ease of clean up a benefit above and beyond being environmentally sound and effective.

The paint went on nice. I like the fact that it is earth-friendly. Obviously, I have no data on it's ability to retard barnacles, etc.
