Thanks for your prior reply. Will this product help with a PVC dingy 8-10 years old which has turned sticky. I understand that the sticky is the elastomers within the pvc which are leaking out as the top surface has degraded by the sun. The bottoms below the rub rail are fine. Will it stop the leaking. If not would it help to get maybe another year out of it. I know this dink is near its expiration date. OR would a liquid EPDM rubber work as a first coat then follow with the bouy paint. John
It is uncertain whether it will prevent the elastomers from coming out. You may want to reach out to the EPDM manufacturer and see if they think it will adhere also. Unfortunately, any of these methods may be trial by fire to see if they work. It is hard to predict adhesion and useful life at this point.

Hi. What is the best method to apply to a pvc dingy? Brush or roller and what type? What should it be thinned with? Can Acetone be used to clean the dingy? John
Foam rollers are easy to apply this paint, the 4" Mighty Mini rollers would be a great roller for the task. Do not use acetone as it will degrade the PVC. Under most circumstances alcohol (denatured or even isopropyl) would probably do sufficient to clean the tubes first. If you have greasy spots or stains, you can try an easy going cleaner like Simple Green or dish detergent.

I need to thin my Flexabar black. What can I use if I can't get " buoy coating thinner" ?
I checked the MSDS sheet on Flexdell's web site. Indicates that it is pure Xylene. So just head off to your local home store.
I know of no alternative product. I use the thinner specially formulated for the buoy paint.
I used the Flexabar PVC paint for my canvas kayak. It worked very well.I used Acetone as a thinner and brush cleaner.
Sorry, I used the paint unthinned with great success.
Bought product to paint numbers on HDPE mooring buoy. Talked to company and sales reps who recommended product. Product was nothing more than sticky goop out of the can. Not suitable for brushing and immediately pealed off buoy surface after drying and curing overnight. Waste of money.
Two coats of this product restored our old weather beaten Life Rafts, to new condition. Highly recommended.
About to order more soon
Used the paint to refurbish a life raft. Worked extremely well and the finished product looks great compared to its original sun-baked condition.
