Attwood LED Stainless Steel Sidelights feature a tell-tale light on the top of each light that illuminate when the light is in use, eliminating the guessing game associated with navigation lights.
These nav lights also use LED technology, making them more efficient than standard incandescent bulbs. LEDs run cooler and draw less power, making them the optimal choice for marine lighting. Available in bi-color bow, red port, and green starboard configurations in your choice of 1 or 2 nautical mile visibility.

Are these lights intended to be mounted on the side of the hull? Or are they for use on the deck itself?
Deck mount only. If you side mount they will not meet Coast Guard requirements.
Mount on the deck itself
They were mounted on the deck.
I bought the combined bow light unit two years ago. It is well made and working well in a salt water atmosphere. The individual lights are appear to be intended for deck mounting, like the combined unit. They are, I believe, intended for use where a single bow light is not practical, because of the boat structure.
I used them on the deck.
These are NOT for mounting on a vertical surface. They are for mounting on a horizontal surface, such as the deck.
What do you mean by side mount?. I want to mount them on a flat horizontal surface not a vertical surface
they mount on a flat surface, but their illumination shines more to the sides than forward. They are 2 separate lights (1 port 1 starboard) rather than 1 center light with both.
an this bi-color light be mounted to a front railing?
I purchased the starboard and port light, but believe the are similar in design and construction to the bi-color. Simple answer is probably no without some kind of plate underneath the light. The light is designed to mount directly to a flat surface.
these lights need a flat surface to mount to.

hello interested in the port and starboard attwood led lighting, curious as to why one is more expesive then the other and second is all merchandise returnable?thank you enzo
I believe that the 2 separate lights are more expensive than the single dual light for obvious reasons. I bought the dual lights in a "2 for 1" deal. Jamestown has a straight forward return policy.

Not sure on price, but they installed very easily with moderate mechanical skill and work great. The led on-top is fantastic, but only visible between dusk and dawn.
are these light 3 3/4"?
See answer above
These are the lights that I purchased fron JD.They have been installed on my San Juan 7.7 and are working perfectly and the installation was very basic and simple.
As near as I can measure, they are 3.25 inches front to back, 2.25 side to side, and 1.5 tall
I purchased the 1 mile bi-color bow light model 35207. The oval base measures about 3" front to back, 2 and a quarter inches side to side.
Are these acceptable for sailboat use, or just for powerboats? I believe the regulations differ...
If mounted correctly and of the correct NM for your boat length they are fine. They need to be mounted so they display the correct arc of red and green when seen from a vessel off the bow. I ended up returning the attwood sidelights and purchasing a lopolight masthead tricolor.
what input voltage should be supplied?
The are rated for 12VDC
Jamestown was quick.....and organized
The light around $35 is expensive, yes for name of Atwood, but I took it and pumped silicone caulk inside to cover wires, (NOT on lenses or bulbs) to protect from weathering. The light shoots out far, and the colored two top lights, I can see from my cockpit, telling me my navigation lights are working, in the bow. As I said, Jamestown ships quick and masterful.
These LED lights take less current draw and much brighter than my old incandescent navigational lights. The tell tail lights makes for an easy check if they are really on. Worth the money just for the added safety.

Can't beat it for the price
Mounted over existing pattern of Perko incandescent lights. This light hides the old mounting screw pattern. LED lights are bright as advertised. Not sure how water resistant it is. Only one screw holds the cover on. Time will tell. Obviously sealant will solve any issues.Metal finish looks good. Again time will tell re corrosion resistance.Yes I recommend this light set. Great value for LED,s.

Needed to replace navigation lights on my pontoon boat. Hard to find locally. Went to Jamestown's website and found exactly what I wanted at a good price. They are installed and work and look great.
