ePaint ZO Antifouling Paint for Commercial and Recreational Vessels
ePaint ZO is an environmentally friendly ablative antifouling bottom paint for commercial and recreational vessels alike. It's designed for vessels with an average operating speeds of 0-30 knots. Hauling and relaunching should not effect coating performance. ZO is also compatible with most existing bottom systems, and features a special Zinc Omadine for extra bio and antifouling protection.
E Paint employs a novel mechanism to control the attachment of fouling organisms. When immersed in oxygenated water, E Paint photochemically generates minute levels of peroxides, making the surface inhospitable to the settling larvae of fouling organisms. Peroxides have been demonstrated to be effective antifouling agents. The peroxides do not persist in the environment because they quickly decompose back into oxygen and water by natural ions dissolved in the water.

Questions & Answers about ePaint ZO Antifouling Paint for Commercial and Recreational Vessels:
2015-05-01DOUG BURR asked: Can you paint over VC17?
2014-05-28MICHAEL SALLEE asked: Does ePaint require a primer when used on aluminum hulls to avoid electrolysis between the paint and the aluminum? If so, does the aluminum boat need to be hauled out frequently to repair scratches through the paint and primer?
2014-05-29JOHN A CALOGERO: Needs primer for adherence. No hint of electrolysis on my aluminum sail drives. Not fragile but it is ablative and needs three initial coats and two more at waterline, bow and stern.
2014-05-30PHILIP DOUCETTE: Yes the ePaint must have the recommended primer I would also recommend a dust coat of zinc cromate as a tie coat before the primer is applied to a freshly etched aluminum hull. I have not experienced a need for more than normal haul outs!
2012-04-17KIM WOODWARD asked: Can I use epaint over vc offshore or baltoplate?

2012-04-17PATRICK PEARCE: Most likely. A quick call to epaint 800-258-5998 would be advised to confirm.
2012-04-17DAVID BENN: Just sand it wth 80 grit and you will be fine. That is what I have done on three diffrent boats without knowing any idea of what the paint was. But while they say two coats is OK; I always started with a coat along the water line and then painted the bottom and then again around the water line. If your are not going to pull again soon I'd give the bottom three coats. The you should be good for two years or more. Great Product I will not use anything any more and I have tried alot. Dave
2012-04-18GREGORY DELIA: I have found that the staff at e-paint are happy to answer any question you have, just give them a call. Having said that my experience over the last 6 seasons with e-paint in the Florida Keys is that as long as the hull is clean and free of flaking at the start the product spreads and adheres very well. The performance is great and will last a full year with maybe one or two pulls to bleach and brush, or do it at a sand bar with a red solo cup.
2012-04-19JOHN A CALOGERO: Don't know. No info.
2012-01-11A shopper asked: how is the slime resistance?
2012-01-13DAVID BENN: I used it fresh water and it worked great. I would put the boat in in April and pull in November and a side from water marks at the water line it would be very very clean. No slime or growths. It was so clean I never had to clean it. Just each fall a light sand with some 80 grit and put on two more coats. I have tried other products but none works as well. Very Good Value for the price.
