All our portable tanks 12 gallon and under meet current United States Coast Guard, and ABYC Standards.
I'm thinking of using this on a 130 Volvo in a 16' boat. The tank would be above the deck under a seat. Would this work? And does the tank breath both ways?
My tanks are on a 17' Boston Whaler and sit on the cockpit sole, under a seat. My tanks have a one way air vent and allows make up air to enter but does not vent gas vapor as the gas and trapped air expand with heat. The tank bulges, but it does not seam to cause any problem.

Thanks Michael, one of the answers I received was that they also backed off the cap from being tight and that eliveated the bulged tank problem. Thanks again.
How does the vent work? The lid (gas gauge)does not seem to vent.
It seams to be a one way valve. It lets air in but not out.

But I have the problem that the engine chokes up and stops after a couple of minutes running. So I had to get back by leaving the cap off a bit. And then it works fine.
YOU WILL BE GREATLY SATISFIED
GOOD TANK. EASY TO INSTALL. WORKS PERFECT.
filler neck cracked had to replace.
I use it in my boat for bass fishing. This tank is not to great. Construction of the sending unit very poor it does't measure gas when full or when it's empty Stays in the full or empty position.

poor gas cap design
This gas cap retchets and wont completely tighten down so it leaks from the bottom. Poor design. making it dangerous. This leaks gas during transport and storage
