Interlux Brightside Polyurethane

Interlux Brightside Polyurethane is the most technically advanced one-part polyurethane available. It contains unique additives that make cleaning easier and help reduce stains and abrasion.

Brightside uses Polyflow 4000, a unique polyurethane resin, which yields excellent flow and leveling characteristics as well as incredible abrasion and chemical resistance. Brightside also takes advantage of the latest in ultraviolet technology which insures longer color and gloss retention.

Together these technologies create a one-part polyurethane which gives the look of a two-part polyurethane with the application ease of a one-part enamel.

Great results if applied carefully

Brightside is an excellent one-part Urethane. It dries quite fast so I thin with 333 to achieve a good flow-out. My preference is to use a foam roller and tip out the bubbles with a Jen foam brush. Two coats over Interprime primer is usually sufficient.

I love this product

This paint is self leveling and sag resistant. Good sheen - almost high gloss. Easy to apply with a foam roller or a brush. It skins over in the can if you keep it very long at all. You can mix available colors to get what you want.

Looks great

I have used this previously on fiberglass hulls with good success by rolling and tipping. This time I used it that way on aluminum plates that had a base coat of Interprotect epoxy paint. Very nice professional finish.

so far so good

I have done a 2 square foot test patch, roll and tip. This paint goes on easily, and evens out nicely. I thinned it out first. After drying, the paint seems fairly hard. After the test patch, I was convinced to use the paint for the sides of my boat above the waterline.

Great paint, period.

I have been using the Interlux brighside polyurethane paint for over twenty years and so I can't compare it to other urethane paints either one part or two part, but this is what I like about it: it has great flow out and produces a nice, very hard, high gloss finish whether you use a brush, sprayer or roll and tip method. It needs to be thinned somewhat right out of the can which I also like because it extends the amount of paint you're buying. The thinner I use is "brush ease 333". The finish stays hard and glossy for years, scuffs nicely for additional coats and is compatible with a flattening agent if you prefer a semi gloss or matte finish. All around great paint.
