does this Racor spin on to a Sierra base ?•À_•À__•À_•À__•À_•À__•À_•À__ or is this a direct replacement and fit for the Sierra ?thank you
If you have Sierra you need to use Sierra cartridges, or if you have a Racor you have to use there cartridges.
Hello Kevin, thank you. FYI though for future reference, since I was looking for an answer without a lot of time to make decisions, I inquired with Sierra and Racor/Parker and if you need to interchange certain elements then Yes, they are interchangeable if you are working with the right base and elements, for example those most common on outboards with water seperation elements if you want a drain visible or not with sierra base (part number now with me with this computer but same as I have on a variety of outboard engines and available at most Marinas) yes the equivalent match from Racor spins right on and works. There are two basic designed thread pattern/count one one inch and one slightly smaller, you just have to make sure you doing apples with apples and all good to go. Thanks anyway, now we know. Both companies, I later found out do have charts to guide you and the other equivalent part number to select the right part. You might let your source know there is other information available. Thank you. John

Hi, I just replacewd my racor filter/water seperator with a new one. What is the small rubber gasket for? I didn't find one on the okd filter. thanks, Bob
It's for the connection between the lower clear glass bowl and the bottom of the filter, and you should lubricate it with some kind of silicone paste or our "PTX-80019" which work's exceptionally well also on water pump seals, o rings, and fuel connections. Your filter should have had one included in the box, if you ordered the proper part, thank you.
Due to the lousy gas we boaters are made to suffer with I bought the Racor Stainless Steel mount for this filter. This filter system is mounted in the engine well of a 23" Pro-Line WA. At a glance we can tell if there is a problem with the gas we have purchased or if the gasahol has separated. The filter is of excellent quality. I've used Racor for decades on both gas and diesel boats, they've always given me top quality protection. I don't think there is any thing better available.
