TotalBoat 5:1 Epoxy Kits

TotalBoat 5:1 Epoxy Kits include everything you need to tackle epoxy repairs and fiberglass projects. The complete project-ready epoxy kit includes: TotalBoat 5:1 epoxy resin; your choice of either fast or slow TotalBoat hardener; a set of metered mixing pumps, 2 stir sticks, 2 mixing pails, and a pair of latex gloves.

For convenience, pumps are color-coded to match the resin or hardener cap, and calibrated at a precise 5:1 ratio for a perfect 5:1 mix every time. All you do is mix ONE full pump of hardener to every ONE full pump of resin.

System Group Sizes: A - Quart Kit; B - Gallon Kit; C - 4.5 Gallon Kit.

Note: Don't need the pumps, gloves, stir sticks, or mixing cups? Gallon size kits are also available with just resin & hardener included. This 'no frills' version makes sense if you already have TotalBoat pumps and just need more epoxy.

TotalBoat Traditional Resin mixed with TotalBoat Fast or Slow Hardeners cures to an amber color, and is not suitable for clear-coating applications.

For clear-coating applications, use TotalBoat Crystal Clear Epoxy Kits (sold separately).

For extra long pot life and working time, use TotalBoat Tropical Epoxy Kits (sold separately).

Tip: Wash cured epoxy with water, scrubbing lightly with a Scotch-Brite pad to remove any amine blush prior to overcoating or painting.

Ongoing Project

I chose to use epoxy over the other resins for water resistance of cured epoxy and bonds to just about anything, no blush, and it hasn't disappointed me, easy to work with, wets out the glass I'm using (1708)One observation/suggestion, the tube that goes in the resin pump needs to be slightly longer to reach the bottom of the gallon jug. I had a tube come out of the pump, had an extra one so no problem, the next new pump I'll use masking tape to secure it

This is an ongoing total rebuild of my boat. The kits are perfect for this pay as I go project and the slow hardener allows me sufficient time to wet out the glass over the new wood under the deck cap. The 6 and 4 inch wide 1708 "tapes" are for the needed tabbing. Once I finish the deck/cap and get it mounted back to the hull I'll be getting more for the stringer tabbing

A pay as I go project

I don't want to "stockpile" resin (epoxy/slow) with ever changing weather and prep work, might be a week before actually doing the next glass step. These kits give you the basics for fiberglass work and the pumps take away the headaches of measuring, equal number of pumps of resin and hardener and stir. The slow hardener gives me time to mix and add any fillers, get it spread, parts clamped together, and smoothed out before kicking off
