TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish

TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish is a protective wood treatment for teak and other wood above the waterline. This flexible, breathable finish provides exceptional weather protection. It's easier to apply and maintain than traditional varnish, with no sanding between coats necessary.

Marine Wood Finish penetrates deeply into the wood pores to create a rich, warm finish, enhancing the natural beauty of your boat's wood. A unique linseed oil and resin formula contains advanced UV inhibitors for greater protection, durability and longevity. Keep your woodwork looking beautiful with the least amount of maintenance necessary.

Goes on like a paint - looks like a varnish

Available in Teak, Satin, and Gloss finishes. Teak is suited for teak and other dark hardwoods. Gloss may be applied over Teak and Satin, but can also be used as a base coat.

Great teak finish!

Easy instructions. As long as you do the necessary prep work (sanding to 320, cleaning thoroughly with tack and mineral spirits), this finish goes on easy, smooths out nicely, and looks fantastic! I thinned the first coat to allow for better absorption. I'll never go back to regular teak oil again!

Great over bare wood, not good over epoxy

4

Applied it over epoxy, still sticky after several weeks; so I light sanded it, and that got it tolerable. But over bare wood, works great and leaves nice shine with just one or two coats, which dries to the point of not being sticky generally in 1 to 3 days.

Excellent Product!!

I used this product for the first time on a 45 year old teak swim platform. The prep work was considerable and tedious getting years of old finishes off and then bleaching the wood. But when I started applying Total Boat the project became fun because the application is so simple and the results are just outstanding! Five coats of Total Boat (no sanding required between coats)and the finished product looks like the best varnish job I ever did. My only suggestion outside of the instructions on the can is to thin with mineral spirts to obtain good brushing characteristics (just like you would do with varnish). This is a great product, I can't wait to start the next project refinishing the handrails.

Great product, works better than anything I've used before

Use a 50% thinned primmer coat then one or two coats right out of the can and a final coat of gloss. The results are amazing.

Refinish Teak Swim Platform

5

This is the most incredible product I have ever used!I refinished a 45 year old teak swim platform by sanding down to bare wood and applying 5 coats of Total Boat Marine Wood Finish. I used the foam brushes that Jamestown included (never have used foam before) and have a beautiful finished project that I'm proud of. Applying the product is so simple. If you can varnish at all you'll love the simplicity of this product. No runs or sags and no "dry" spots that show up later as with varnish. My only suggestion is to thin the product with mineral spirits enough to get good brushing charactristics. The label on the can will suggest that thinning is not necessary.

Product covered varous tints of the wood with a uniform coat. The shine of the satin has drawn positive comments. First time using product so I am watching for durability and when a touch up will be required after my three coats.
